And if you did break it exactly who would you sell all those bits to? There are probably exactly 2? on the road. There cannot be 200 of these left?

I do love it when people say they will break it unless they get £x by Sunday.

Just ask them for, say, first dibs on the doors or summat and say you can pick up on Monday

Shame to see it bangered. I had one - based on my ownership IMHO a poor car - bit like the Pacer... but supercool. The principle problem is the crappy engine which is very reluctant to rev....and poor MPG...but there was a Wolseley prototype in the car pool at Longbridge that was very popular - it had the Rover V8 in it and the old thing handles ok. Killed by internal company policymaking and the BMC - Leyland merger. A big expensive ugly Austin was always going to be a hard sell - but a Wolseley 8/180 - might have found a niche. Would be a great car to recreate and would give the car the power it needs.

This car was up against the Big Fords, Rover 3500, Triumph 2000 etc. Only 8000 sold but definitely worth saving as the last big Austin.

A car that must have had a lot of care lavished on it at the factory - beautiful finish inside. Mine was a manual. I owned it 30 years ago and was then in pretty good condition. Hope it survives.

Not sure who did the nose and tail job on the 1800 hull - whether it was Pininfarina or in house at BMC. If the latter would have been the work of Ricardo Burzi in the BMC design office. More than a little 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE about the rear wing line and boot shape.

It looks a but saggy in the back. You also need to run the roulette of getting it stuck on the Ferry.

That age of 750 is terrifying. By the time they got to the next gen model of 7 series (e38) and fitted the engine, they were relatively ok, still £££££x12 when they go wrong, but less likely to go wrong.

The bigger issue with any E38 7  at that point is fuel tanks rotting and being now completely unobtainable (the only realistic course is sending the old tank to be restored or buying second hand one and sending it off if you can't put the car off the road for a few weeks).
