Sorry, but I'm failing to see the massive investment potential implied in the advert.

Happy to be proved wrong

Things like this always make me chuckle.

As a comparison a mintola mk 4 Ghia wouldn't fetch £3/4k even in a kdf whiteroom so to think this will be worth over treble that is totally dillusional.

They were never a particularly good car to drive back then, certainly not built to last in anyway or anything people particularly aspired to, the Ghia badge was becoming just that with most of the other models having most of the Ghia "extras".

I've had loads of those back in the day and they weren't a patch on the 90's Vauxhall's, ford were falling by the wayside at that time and hence invested heavily in the excellent MK1 focus which along with the Mondeo did really start to ramp their quality back up, but at a cost to simplicity.

a Cougar 2. Very rare indeed, they only made them in the hundreds before the plug was pulled. Shame theyre all that horrible green colour

There's a 2? What's the difference.

I've just realised - that Cougar was registered September 2001. Co2 is 236g/km

so VED is...

£315.

When you think about it though, that's about an extra 6 quid a month over what an older one would cost - not much in the grand scheme of things...

Yeah, that's the best way, lowest common denominator and all that. Otherwise it can put you off buying stuff if you think of one big figure, the ML is a case in point. It's about £27 a month or something, which sounds cheaper than the whole lot in one hit.

Oh agreed, I guess it's just one more reason for the general populace not to buy this car.

Different seats, revised dash, steering wheel, headlights and grille...a few other bits I cant remember.

IIRC they only made 600.

I felt a very underrated car in V6 form. Loads of boys had them in ford and raved at doing 130mph down Sarn hill from Cardiff.

Sort of a MK2/3 Mondeo crossover coupé.

I think the probe killed it's image.

£1800? Lol fuck off.

I did wonder if that Marbella link should have gone in the 'Bargains' thread instead.

Surely the Cougar needed the 200bhp version of the V6 to give it more of a halo?
