I'm not going to lie. I like that.

Sorry (not sorry)

I have seen this driving around always with the drivers door open and it's been on sale for a while and love the look of it.

What would be a good engine to fit in that Ford Pilot now its lost its V8? I’m thinking maybe an Indenor 2.5 diesel from an LDV Convoy. Or maybe a Landrover 200TDi. What a wonderful thing it is anyway, I’d love it. I’ve chucked it in the watch list.

Landcruiser straight six diesel? Its the ultimate anti government car, tax exempt, mot too, emmission zone exempt and will run on tax free cooking oil. You can grow and mill your own oil too if feeling nutty enough like me. Zombie Apocalypse- no problem I have a Pilot.

A Ford sidevalve V8!

There are lots of Ford flathead engines about, they were made by the million and are still very well supported. Which makes the removal of this car's engine (to build a Rod or whatever) even more absurd.

Only just caught up with this thread and just noticed the car in the background of that Commer "knocker".post-17414-0-61001100-1542116615_thumb.jpeg

Can't be a coincidence that it's another odd dizzler, it's a VW XL1- I thought it was just a concept car but apparently they made 250. It's a 2 cylinder diesel hybrid that was good for 0.9l / 100km ( 300mpg)

Anyway, how about a TS3 lump in the Pilot? Wonder if any were put in cars, in period?

That looks stupendous!

Unfortunately, I am much like The Reverend Bluejeans re these -

The last e32 735i manual I had had 184k on it and cost £100 with 6 month's mot (bought 2014)

If someone has the money and is after a big old barge - it's either this or an LS400 that is the route to happiness..

I have a feeling that will end up in an auction or a white room for twice this amount in the near future.

These things were twice the car a W126 or XJ40 was when new and the LS400 was far more of a cruiser, more akin to the 750, which to me was a barge, especially in LWB form.

The manual big six always had the slowest reacting flywheel of anything I've driven before or since, but once you got used to it an e32 could cover ground easily as well as a 5 or 635. And you'd never try to keep up with a 300e in even a V8 S Class of the era.

Funny you should mention the flywheel - our E30 335 has a lightened flywheel (6kg removed) and it revs like a bastard all the way to 7250rpm:)

This looks the sort of thing British crime bosses would use to house 23 Eastern European potato pickers in a Norfolk field

Now....

I know Minis come with a wide variety of options but I had no idea one of them was the rare and expensive red trim option. Amazing, BMW apparently managed to market this as an aspirational extra cost option. I actually thought the previous owner took the removable bits off and sprayed them with a rattle can in the garage one Sunday....

It looks feckin Shite. If I bought this I would have to upgrade this to the grey “standard trim that doesn’t look crap” kit.

You know why it looks so shit?  Because it's so bitty!  Where's the solidly red door card?  The red seats?  The red carpet?  A grey 1964 Mini with red interior was just that, a grey car with a properly red interior.  That thing above is just too half-assed.

If it was more like this it would be ace
