In the alley behind the local carry out shops is this badermatic K119f37a9f7dd2ae67f90a591378ded4411.jpgfc9f932c3300d6f5b4f90cd150784ac8.jpg

I really hope you are right.

I usually am.

Anything more door non longroof has tanked. And the bottom has not been reached yet, particularly if sporting B-pillars.

Longroofs are still unaffected because Surf Nazis, but who else wants them anyway? So your guess is as good as mine

Make no mistake, this is only applicable to septic and posh non septic saloons, which is good news for Jaaag and W116 lickers.

Yerpeen baby boom saloons are going to skyrocket, though. See P6, R16, etc.

P6 is possibly trailing same era BMW and Alfa saloons in sheer cash, but from where it started, the ROI is most impressive.

Looks like a VT250 next to it as well. 8)

More likely a VT500 I think. 250s all gone within about ten minutes of leaving the shop ;-)

One’s too many, ten’s not enough!

Just to prove my point.

You'd have been hard pressed to get this for 7,500 just two years ago.

The '59 Caddy with a 25k BIN I posted a few pages back would have set you back at least 30 bags.

Let's watch where that Plümmes is going and I bet you anything that you can have that Caddy for under 20.

Interestingly, oddball shit like the Exner Imperials, which aren't worth a lot to begin with, seem to hold their value.

Early 50s GMs also nosedived, which has already been taken advantage of on several occasions right on this forum.

CHRIST! You'd at least take pictures of salvageable parts. That is fucked... With brown glass!

At least they're offering it out rather than bean canning it I suppose.

The car was purchased from Charles ware back in 2004 and returned for restoration/ upgrading in 2011. Current mot expires on 27/11/2018 which required £2000 worth of welding. Car benefits from upgrades including servo brakes alternator electronic ignition 1098 engine radio heated front and rear screens and seat belts.

The car has been starting first time but although the battery ok the engine turned and now nothing. Hence the price reduction.

£1500

There's no possibly about it. Rover P6's will never be worth serious money, ever. They were uncool 10 years ago, 20, 30, 40 years ago. Triumph 2000's maybe also but at least they were pretty. The P6 has been a 'sort of classic' for as long as I can remember, the car your Dad said was the last of the Real Rovers (yawn) and thus doomed. When you consider that Real RoversTM were never remotely hip or trendy unlike Jaguars or E3 BMW's, that's kinda fucked their chances. They are also undeniably ugly despite their technical merit*.

The P6 occupies the same unfortunate position as the Scimitar - old and sort of interesting, but there are more about still than those who want one.

*Or technical dead end, you choose.

£200k actually seems pretty cheap for a whole business, surely the tools alone are worth close to that?

I'd be up for putting in a grand in return for half a percent of ongoing profits, assuming it's actually making money of course. All seems a bit dragons den...

Also expensive to run with no real wow factor...they are less than the sum of their parts - beautifully detailed for example the recessed wipers and 'stereo on a shelf' instruments and the shape of the seats in the early ones - probably all David Bache's work. Imagine the shape of the DS with Rover detailing now that would be a car. P6 are too much the car driven by the wealthy accountant at the time or that sensible family who lived in the big house. I notice also the P4's are cheapish again. I had one - was not really much fun to pilot - I much prefer my Citroen AX!
