They all have people bidding on them so someone thinks there's money to be made.

They will be sorely disappointed. N43's are unfixable.

35 fucking grand for this dismal piece of wank, when you can buy the finest plush Ro80 for 5???

The world has gone bananas!

Imagine what you can buy for 35. The mind boggles.

NSU Spyders, on the rare occasions that they actually come up, can command about 20 grand. With fewer than 2500 built (all LHD from factory), this RHD one really is a rare one in a tiny pool of rarities.

Unfortunately, mein Herr, without the Wankel Spyder development work, there would be no Ro80. That's history, dismal wank or not.

I was going to say a 750 or 101 Giulietta Spider, but they are now house money - and we're not talking a dismal semi in Mansfield. Even the Coupes are 100 grand + now.

Dear goldrivet,

do you think it would drive to Glasgow if I win the auction and I came to collect it?

Regards,
Doug

Dear doug

I can't see why it wouldn't but it would be a long trip for the old girl. If I were you, I'd try to source one a little closer; you'll probably find the bidding will go higher on this one than than it would on the same car if it was located in Scotland. I know I've seen some bargain cars and bikes in Scotland but i know, if I sit tight, there'll be something similar that's closer to home. Case in point: I've just bought a Vauxhall Viscount located in Portsmouth (not far from me) and I remember seeing the same car, listed in Derby a few months ago at around the same price. Turns out the head gasket blew not long after it was bought from Derby and the chap I bought it from had to fork out to fix it, so I got the same car for the same money, less hassle and much closer, just by biding my time.

Just a thought but, as I said, she runs well enough and hasn't broken down since I've had her (except the alternator bearing siezed on the way back from Sandwich in Kent but we still got back ok).

Sounds like a decent bloke, he should be on here.

Galant VR-4

-This is different. Didn't know they did a VR4 of this generation. Could be one for the Liability thread.

I do like that Volvo, all the car you'd ever need, plus a bit more for luck, perhaps fit some rear facing seats in the load bay just to make sure

The seller sounds like a liability too.

'Basically a rust free car.'

'Imported from Japan registered by me so is a UK one owner car'.

As I had nowhere to park it near home, I was allowed to park it at the stables instead.....

I was out in the other RHD one (which was converted at the factory when new and is the only "original" RHD one of these, and it was exported new to Hong Kong) a few weeks ago. If I had 35k to hand, that car would be on its way to my shed by lunchtime tomorrow!

The only other RHD one I saw had a very late registration plate when I saw it in the 1990s: OOD 625M. It may have had an age-appropriate plate substituted since then.
