That would be a crying shame, the DB2/3 is a relatively ugly and unexceptional car.

They are still used in that classic car racing (a form of banger racing for millionaires) hence the vast appetite for engines.

Unlike the banger racers, the classic racing guys haven't yet figured out that you can crash a car just as well with something

else installed than rated rare stuff.

Hence I also fear that engine rapage will sadly be the main motivating factor for the majority of bidders.

Sad but true - there was a 1954 Singer Hunter saloon on Ebay a couple of times - the second time without its engine as that had gone into the more valuable roadster sports. Bentley MK6's are still going the same way to manufacture 'specials'.

With the Lagonda one factor will be the condition of the interior - the Riley RM has been mentioned as a comparison -  the saving grace there is there are still a few basket cases about to break for parts and a better support network. Lagonda suffer from lack of support at an entry level as most specialists are aimed, as has been said, at millionaire owners.

Simple car to restore...just trailer it to the AML works and ask them to fix it. Just make sure you own bullion, diamonds or an oil well.

Verdict - these used to flood the market at £500 and were broken for parts every single time, are there so few left now that this sort of wreck becomes viable as a project?

That thing was sat in a garden near mansfield for a lot longer than 5 years. It's utterly, utterly rotten.

Might last 20 minutes around a short oval, the best place for it.

That ZB Magnette though. They should never be bangered ever again.
