i really like this shape Camry, the other half had one back in the day.

i like this one even more as its got the 3 litre engine.

so, just how fucked do we think a 25 year old toyota could be?

looking at the mot history this has not had too much trouble passing the test, and there is no mention of corrosion.....

I quite like them too……

At £650ono with a year’s test I reckon that’s decent value. The head gasket(s) can go, but my old V6 showed no sign of it even after a couple of trackdays and with 140k on the clock. Mine could have kept going for many more miles, they can happily take it, but various small things were adding up and it just wasn’t worthwhile.

The interior on mine suffered with water ingress. Might just have been a blocked drain hole though, as my estate sat for three years and hadn’t suffered.

At the end of its life mine became an MR2 engine donor. The commercial conversion people don’t bother with that engine any more, but individuals still do and from memory I got about £350 for my V6 and what they needed of the wiring, clocks etc (with me keeping the rest of it). Even if the engine has suffered HGF I think they’ll still take them on.

I have a reasonable stock of non-V6 specific saloon bits in case anything was needed for that one.

P.S. Don’t dismiss the 2.2-litre version. It doesn’t make the same noise and is slower at the top end, but in day-to-day use it’s just as quick and the handling is better too with the lighter engine up front.

£55,000 and it looks like it was previously 'enjoyed' by Harry the stabber, Dave the bastard, Shotgun Steve and Terence the nonce to escort them between myriad H.M the queen's holiday camps.

That transit twin wheel panel van is a beauty, can forgive the mirrors not being on the wings.

FWIW, I would say the same thing about manual Rover 800s, too. The M16 (or T16) are considerably less worrisome, more economical and the KV6 is only quicker if you drive it hard.

However, four-cylinder cars are for plebs.

However, four-cylinder cars are for whinnars.
