Dolomite 1500 SE on FB, asking £2500-

The time has come where we have to let our lovely little SE go. Due to lack of time to do all those little tinkering jobs we wanted to do and not driving her as much as we wanted we feel it's time to pass the reigns on to a new owner who the has time but maybe not the same family restraints. Our SE has just passed her MOT so will come with a full 12 months left to run but she is not currently taxed (we may tax her from April 1st, depending on interest). She starts first time everytime and has never let us down and the engine is strong with no known faults despite showing around 21,000miles on the clock so would assume 121,000miles to be correct. We have added a rev counter in place of the fuel and temp gauge instrument and moved the fuel, temp and a volt gauge to a pod under the dash above the radio. This does look sympathetic to the age of the car but can very easily be converted back to standard should you wish to. We also have a substantial amount of paperwork in the form of a sort of history file of work carried out to the car and an appraisal of it's condition from a previous owner. We have amassed quite a few spares over our time of ownership (including spare glass, chrome trim, rear seats, 4x Sprint alloy wheels, dash parts, suspension parts, radiator and these will be available to the buyer at extra cost if required of sold separately after the sale. Our SE is for sale at £2,500 and is located in Poole, Dorset. Come and have a look at her, you won't be disappointed! Please PM me for any further information required.

I am having non-buyer's remorse, having failed to bid on the shiny red Lancia Beta pictured some pages above. It sold for £3200.  Probably a bullet dodged, however, as the car had been in a shed since 2003.

I cannot believe the way everyone here is getting all exited about cars that are almost a breeding pest here in Oz, Old Holden Commodores almost grow on trees here, its a shitters paradise!

BUT DO NOT CALL THEM SHIT HERE OR YOU WILL BE BEATEN TO A PULP WITH A CRICKET BAT AND A BEER BOTTLE

Ooooh, those wheels are lush!

Make mine a Statesman or Caprice on those wheels and with a big bloody V8 Please!

Junkman said 'please'!

I already have a car with lions everywhere, so one of those Holden barges would be a natural next to it, no?

Give yourself a pat on the back & spend that £3200 on something that will at some point see the Queen's highway again, unlike that Lancia.

I really, seriously can't see the point of all this earnest, worshipful spanking over Italian cars made of digestive biscuits; life's complicated enough as it is.

EDIT: on reflection that seems a bit harsh. I quite like Fiats, but Alfa Romeo and Lancia can get in the fucking sea. Where the salt content would mean they would last -18793875 seconds.

I suppose that it's quite Autoshite to favour Fiat over Lancia and Alfa Romeo, as the more conventional petrolhead thing would be to rank Lancia and Alfa above Fiat (although of course at various times they are all Fiats anyway).  I like Italian cars for some of the same reasons that I like British cars - great design and engineering.  Build quality can be poor, although the rust thing is really much the same as for most old cars. At least we can blame the Germans for the shonky electrics.

I am still slightly regretting the Beta, but the buyer had failed to reply to two emails asking for details of the car, and the car would inevitably have required a lot of recommissioning work; so, on to the next folly.

This Alpine chalet vehicle is a unique ‘one off’ design by artist/designer Barry Stimson.  The design was to have been put into production in Europe and marketed throughout Europe, but the unforeseen effects of the ‘Brexit’ vote changed that plan.  ‘Classic old vans’ are great… but running costs and reliability of a modern van is of paramount importance in running a successful business .  The essence of ‘classic old’… or ‘funky’ new remain the same…. both have to appeal to the potential customer purchasing from the trading unit.  However for your information please see part of that design brief set out  below.  The ‘one off’ vehicle being offered for sale  is a Fiat Ducato MWB with 134000 miles on the clock and MOT’d until July 2017. and is in very nice condition.  The Alpine conversion was carried out in 2016 and is ply lined and ready to be ‘set up’ by the purchaser to fill their requirements and is in new and unused condition.
