Junkman
Give yourself a pat on the back & spend that £3200 on something that will at some point see the Queen's highway again, unlike that Lancia. I really, seriously can't see the point of all this earnest, worshipful spanking over Italian cars made of digestive biscuits; life's complicated enough as it is. EDIT: on reflection that seems a bit harsh. I quite like Fiats, but Alfa Romeo and Lancia can get in the fucking sea. Where the salt content would mean they would last -18793875 seconds. Guest Breadvan72
I suppose that it's quite Autoshite to favour Fiat over Lancia and Alfa Romeo, as the more conventional petrolhead thing would be to rank Lancia and Alfa above Fiat (although of course at various times they are all Fiats anyway). I like Italian cars for some of the same reasons that I like British cars - great design and engineering. Build quality can be poor, although the rust thing is really much the same as for most old cars. At least we can blame the Germans for the shonky electrics. I am still slightly regretting the Beta, but the buyer had failed to reply to two emails asking for details of the car, and the car would inevitably have required a lot of recommissioning work; so, on to the next folly. flat4alfa and Junkman
richardmorris
Hmmmm http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-catering-van-Fiat-Ducato-Citroen-HY-van-a-Barry-Stimson-design-/272597862036?hash=item3f78194694:g:cVMAAOSwuxFYz-Cf........ This Alpine chalet vehicle is a unique ‘one off’ design by artist/designer Barry Stimson. The design was to have been put into production in Europe and marketed throughout Europe, but the unforeseen effects of the ‘Brexit’ vote changed that plan. ‘Classic old vans’ are great… but running costs and reliability of a modern van is of paramount importance in running a successful business . The essence of ‘classic old’… or ‘funky’ new remain the same…. both have to appeal to the potential customer purchasing from the trading unit. However for your information please see part of that design brief set out below. The ‘one off’ vehicle being offered for sale is a Fiat Ducato MWB with 134000 miles on the clock and MOT’d until July 2017. and is in very nice condition. The Alpine conversion was carried out in 2016 and is ply lined and ready to be ‘set up’ by the purchaser to fill their requirements and is in new and unused condition.
