I don't think they did make a 130 cabriolet, my money is on it being (originally) a 1.8i lump. They were superb engines especially when coupled with c/r SRi gearbox (F18, or something like that) as the gearing was fab.

I just DVLA'd it and it came back "CAVALIER 1.8 CABRIO" so unless they've put a 130 motor in it they're talking out their flange hole.

This looks fun to drive, the suspension reminds me of that from the Warthog on Halo

I have a spare 875cc Imp engine we could lob in the back of that. That would be MEGA! and would still be quicker than Volksy's Audi 100.

No, they are proper 6 Speed Units! At the time these were launched they must have been one of the smallest capacity cars available with a 6 speed box at a time when 6 speed boxes weren't so common.

I was not sure, despite it being old and before I had even heard of a 6 speed gearbox in a normal car, I did wonder how anyone could make such a mistake, even in 'Brwatfurt innit' hence the tentative "?" at the end of the comment. Just as well I did that eh?

I think that Fiat beat them slightly with the Mk1 Punto 6speed. But IIRC they only were on sale for a couple of years.

A canal barge is quicker than my Audi 100.

Honda Shuttle 4x4s have a 6 speed 'box, but first gear is an ultra low ratio for off roading.

You could fit a 6 speed gearbox. However since it appears to have French military markings. that would have to be 1 forward speed and 5 reverse.

'most of the hard work is done'

All it needs now is the body fixing on, half the pissing engine, some wiring, a log book, some kind of VIC check, body parts, steering, throttle, seats and handlebars. 1/115.

Just read through a few pages and that corolla made me smile. 109 bhp. If I remember correct the 414 sli rover I had was 108 bhp and the 1.6 where closer to 115. The gti 216 was a bit more.

'Item location: Southport'

Obviously not a local car then as the seagulls fly upside over Southport on account of the fact IT'S NOT WORTH SHITTING ON.

Not French, Italian, the french motor would do nothing and give up for fear of getting damaged.

The French gave up Paris as allegedly they didn't want their beautiful city ruined.

Why do I now this? Cos I is sad innit.

Like I wondered why my Kubelwagen had, like all others, a low compression engine - because the Krauts knew the further East they went the shiter the fuel quality would be.

Sorry end of history lesson.

Speaking of rescuing Renaults, have we had this one yet?

Condition unknown/ unwarranted -although it does still look pretty sound.

Looks eminently saveable. In Sussex, £161 so far.

Edited to add: It even comes with a Nigel Bickle numberplate, sort of... Mr Bickle to the beige courtesy phone please...

On Bickles doorstep that, I guess he may already be bidding.

All BMW's are shit etc however this looks more interesting as it's an Alpina B10 which looks to have been dragged out a hedge or in ebay speak "carefully barn stored".

It's not the desirable bi-turbo so it's pretty much just a 535i sport with a different ecu, it doesn't run (the ecus probably borked) and it's got a lot of bits missing, no alpina stripes and seems to be fitted with e28 seats.

Offers. I've no idea what it's worth.
