That Escort even has that horrible seat belt system that strangles you when you turn the ignition on.

GR 2.5 for dogging. There is no way a fat hairy 45yr old dinnerlady could lie there spreadeagled whilst Stan Collymore and Steve McFadden spaffed on the door. She would get tangled up in the belts.

That generation of Laurel (C33) is amazingly good-looking, I’d love one someday. Stuff underneath is similar to Silvia/Skyline of the time, so shouldn’t be too big a problem for parts.

The OMGDRIFT people seem to like them, though probably not with a diesel engine.

Found one in a Suffolk scrapyard a few years ago, the grille off it is in my garage and that may be the closest I’ll get to owning one for the foreseeable future...

Sadly, a fool has attempted to break into the rear engine bootlid as seen in pics, if only they had just used the boot release just inside the rear passenger door!

Wouldn't you have just loved to see their faces when they saw an engine in the 'boot'?

I had a cheeky bid on this today, a tidy Cavalier L with the 2.0 injection engine. No MOT but a little bit of tax. Went for £600!!! A lot more than I was prepared to pay. I'm sure i've seen this a couple of times before on the bay and its not made that much even with a decent test on it.

Maybe we'll see it again in a few days.

[x] Fake rust

[x] General Lee door

[x] Stickerbomb

[x] A fucking roof rack!

[x] Yellow headlights

[x] Iron cross

It's official. VW are the Apple of the automotive world.

Lolz, even Wikipedia is confused that amount of cross-development:

Some say it was designed at GM's Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, USA,[citation needed] and GM did designate it the GM M platform. The chassis, engines, and drivetrains were developed by Suzuki

I have reported that Corsa to a mate of mine who is a manager at Abbey Insurance. They'll put it on some sort of ABI database I'm told.

When I sold my old 106 with a Saxo VTS engine in 9/10 questions were "WOT IZ IT ON LOGBOOK M8? WOT'S YA BEST PRICE?"

It was still a 1.4 on the logbook cos I couldn't be arsed jumping through the DVLA hoops to change it (although insured 100% legit) but I told them all it was down as a 2.0 Turbo cos I couldn't be arsed dealing with rigger boot wearing chancers.

In the end it did go to a rigger boot wearing chancer who completely fucked it up within about 10 days but at least he was polite. Turns out he was just not bright enough to realise you could even change the logbook over.
