That granny estate on the previous page has already sold. Those steel wheels look like Cortina wheels, these MK2 Granada's didn't come with those steelies (I am sure they should be a black and silver steel wheel on all base pre-facelift MK2's)

Edit*

these wheels

Then there were these:

Whether they were available on pre-facelifts I know not.

"Fat ankled swan molester" is a piece of literary genius, which I will plagiarise shamelessly.............

i can't take any cred for it, I'll have robbed it from somewhere, MacDroitwich I think

That Dutch cavalier is ace and excellent value at a grand I reckon. I see it has the 1256 chevette engine!!! Sweet

Weren't the early Mk1 Cavaliers built in the Netherlands before production started in Luton? That might explain it, as I guess they weren't available once production moved. I pondered the same thing in 1996 when I saw another 2dr one in white, in Ypres. What an exciting life I led as a 15 year old....

Talking of Cavaliers, here's an oddball. How come this Dutch one isn't an Opel?

I used to wonder that too until recently. As far as I'm (now) aware, the MK1 Cav was an Opel Ascona with a new nose, put together in a bit of a rush so that GM UK had something to fight the Cortina with. They did however change the nose on the Vauxhall version to make it appear like less like an Opel with Vauxhall badges. Early ones were still made in Belgium though and caused a bit of a furore at the time by not being British built.

The size of those doors, how the hell do you get out of it in a normal parking space.

Amazing looking motor though.

Re the Dutch Cavalier conundrum. For some reason Vauxhalls were popular in The Netherlands and were sold there long after the rest of Eupope .

I've had a lot of Dutch passengers that recognise the Griffin on the boot of an Insignia or something in a traffic jam, which often sparks a conversation about childhood memories of Victors or Vivas.

For some reason, north west France is littered with late model Rover chod, all on French plates.............

Double-hinged doors help. Not very much, but a bit.

These Paella-powered 'Austin' J4 vans really take shite commercials to a new level. This is a 1978 model, in Madrid, asking price is 1600€ which at the current (best for several years) exchange rate equates to about 1250 quid. BARG! I have no idea what engine is in em
