eBay tat volume 3.

I've been quoted by a few local garages £1500-2000 to get the top of the wings repaired and a full spray, still trying to decide if i should bite the bullet or not...

Depends if that 2 grand is needed elsewhere. If not, might aswell get it done as it'll no doubt make you feel good seeing the end result.

I'd rather spend 2 grand on the Cortina, myself :)

This.

That'll buff out. :P

You probably don't need me to say this, but if an Amazon snaps off at the bulkhead, it's FUCKED. The front half of the inner \ outer sills will be muntered as will the front floorpans. Their windscreens leak like fuck and water comes in at the A pillars - and on this one it's been left to fester.

I actually thought it had been in a front end smack when I saw the photo, as opposed to simple neglect- loads of Amazon estates end up looking like that and lasting forever and a day.

I owned a 1966 P1800 for a week. I scrapped it in the end because it was so spectacularly buggered it broke in half when it was hiabbed on to the metal merchant's trailer. They make Amazons look like rank amateurs in the rotting department.

He might make a few quid on it as a spares car, depending on what state the interior's in.

trigg, I'm one of the biggest supporters of Cortina's......but if I had £2k sitting around I'd happily spluff it out on a PA Cresta 8)

Posted

Buy the Cresta then just buy 25 cans of pound shop satin black for the Cortina. Job done.

£645 for a RHD Chevy Blazer? I would.

Shipping is a grand on top of that, but I'd guess it's still a better proposition than a Land Rover Discovery.

To quote: The car gas the gearbox etc still fitted requires an engine and as is valuie up to 10,000 pound. All offers welcome.

Bizzare advert, worth a look if only just to confirm that you are actually sane. Can't quite work out if the seller is joking or spent a lifetime taking acid?? & with the inclusion of a Frank skinner youtube video amongst other things I'm kinda swinging towards the latter...

MK1 Mondeo Si's are fantastic. I had a K reg one. More BHP than the standard 2 litre if i remember rightly and utterly reliable

Posted

I always suspected the 4x4 ones like this may be a little under powered with 140bhp or what ever they've got.

This isn't on ebay, it's currently advertised on the noticeboard at our local motor factors. Being as I was car shopping recently I popped round for a look. I said I'd pop an ad up on here if I didn't end up buying it and as I've bought another BX theres no room at the inn. Please feel free to copy and paste onto other forums etc :D

As you can see it's an old Ford Orion 1.6, 52k from new with the same owner since 1988. Said chap is an ex HGV mechanic who has always serviced the car himself. The engine runs sweetly with it's weber carb conversion and mechanically it seems perfect. There's a pit in his garage which he encouraged me to use to inspect underneath the car and it's perfect, testament to an annual coat of Waxoil. The bodywork on top is less perfect with faded paint and scratches, though I reckon it would mostly polish up ok. Front wings are a bit ropey and there's a hole in the o/s/r wheelarch hidden by the door. Interior should clean up nicely apart from the usual cracked dash top.

He's asking £500 with a full years ticket or £400 without which seems more than fair, it's been sat for a year so is SORNed and the last MOT has not long run out. He's on oh seven nine two six 844566 and is in Ludlow (about a miles walk from the railway station with regular buses past his door)

Bargain, I'd love to get my hands on that and bling it all up again, Sadly I can't justify a 400 mile round trip for a car i don't actually need.

I'm not sure if this is cheap or not, but rarely seen on a dealers forecourt this century.

£1150 with 10 months MOT and some tax

Tax exempt Scimitar with some tax/test for £850 ... Needs cosmetic work .... bargain/money pit, you decide ... If its got some MOT then there should be most of a chassis underneath the plastic

I do find the myself drawn to this, I'm not sure why, maybe the wheels or the yellow/orange paintwork.

Posted
WTF is going on here ? 150k miles and the engine is burning oil.

Current bid: £6,100.00

Some skullduggery going on with the bidding, that's for sure....

Really like these old Preludes, not keen on the black wheels but still nice.

Top notch ones only seem to make £1500 and that one doesn't look far off that sort of figure. One of these is on my wishlist, hopefully in the next few years if circumstances allow, and something like that one would be a nice one to get hold of.

I stumbled across someone selling the most obscure collection of car parts last night, it may be of interest:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/goggo_dancer/ ... 4340.l2562

He has parts for Tatra, Heinkel, Goggomobil, Messerschmitt, Mercedes and more. His listings are honest and clear with low starting bids but told me when I asked about postage of one particular item that he was planning on pulling the lot to sell at an autojumble because nobody was bidding. There could be bargains to be had, especially if you can collect from him.
