Did anyone else notice this in the ugly kit car listing?

WTF? From memory wasn't the Griffon a bigger Merlin? Funny that it looks like a Princess R boat anchor. Be interesting to see what cc it says on the logbook if they went by this engine number.

The Griffon was a 32 litre V12, which I somehow doubt that is

^Yep, not one but two Invacars.  He's also selling a cheap MGB, if anyone really wants to know how much pain one can be:

My dad used to work for RR Aero way bakand his mate restored a Merlin engine with some help from dad. The engine got major coin, and  I mean major

I can't believe we're skipping past this one so easily, this was the legendary RAYMANBOY Hilux lash-up from "classic" Autoshite.

Ah yes I do vaguely remember that from the good old days.

What's got me giggling to myself is that it's had a staggering 15 bids already and has only been bid up to £10.50 LOL!

Posted

Meh, outbid at the last moment on a Honda Logo going cheap nearby, just needed a jolly good clean and a radiator so was hoping it'd make a good little quick turnaround project.  Probably just as well, couldn't even find anywhere selling a Logo radiator anyway.

That's not rangie based. Under the masses of shivering fiberglass and scaffolding lies the mortal remains of a cortina. I should know, i built one.

£150, any reasonable offer considered. No power steering, needs front pads and headlights sorting for MoT.  3 recent tyres, tax - August.

Something very disappointing when it winds up getting used in tractor pulls though.

Sub 1000 quid 4.2 Quattro A8. . They're brilliant cars these until they go wrong as they're more complex than a rubix cube with the cubes made out of rubix cubes. I recon this scrapyard find one has a 1:4 chance of making it 10 days without showing up some spurious unfixable fault like the sunroof opening when you turn left.

Did they ever sell these in the UK? 760 turbodiesel!

Look at that!!!!! this is 500€ or offers. DAMN! I proper fancy it, I was well impressed with that other 760 I had briefly. Presumably it has the IRS, alloy bonnet and all the other 760 shiz.

Rang up about this today. Its been off the road a few years but is up and running and driving OK apparently. The lad is going to send me a load of pics and an MOT report and is not in a mega gasping hurry to shift it off his drive, all of which sounds great man. Now I am dreaming of a weekend exploring Strasbourg then driving home in a D24 straight six diesel 760. WCPGW? Cracked tyres/rad hoses maybe, self-destructing water pump perhaps, a seized caliper? Nowt that can't be fixed at the side of the autoroute with a pair of pliers and a plate of Salade Campagnarde.

Fuggin' bonza Sir Nadsalot! You are out there living what the rest of us can only talk about. Those seven-series Volvos are such good cars, I reckon one with diesel economy might be actually perfect. Really lookin forward to seeing how this pans out.

I like that Metro van!!!! J-reg LATE REGISTRATION MADNESS RIGHT THERE.

The seats on those Volvos are amazing they're like some 70's terence conran designed furniture.
