Christ, He must burn out his battery every time he turns his lights on!

I'm going to break my 'don't re-post pictures' rule here. That Hunter is absolutely MEGA, please buy it Mike.

Oh my. That Volvo is fantastic. Why is payday 10 days away!!!!

Posted

Probably a good thing. I can imagine a 2.8l volvo meaning you'd be doing a lot of 'waiting for payday'

Posted

That Hunter looks the business, but all those lights are GR9 for overheating problems.

Poor old five-pot Passat, presented in Diamond Silver over maple-effect Formica that's well beneath its dignity.

ALL PHOTO'.S WERE TAKEN ON WEDNESDAY'S

That Hunter is brilliant, very period.

I like the Volvo 760 too, haven't seen one that early in years - I always remember the different fancy script they had for the badges.

Another one to squirrel away methinks.

Most were done by a London Fiat specialist who imported them before Fiat UK brought the official LHD cars in. I think they had a three letter name but I can't remember what they were called.

RHD. :D

2-owner Maxi with 30k on the clock and a year's MOT. Not super cheap - £1230 and counting - but a bit of alright.

I'm getting all fidgety about the green Princess, which ends in an hour. Will my auction sniper do the trick...?

Posted

Seems a bit pricey for a Maxi, but on the other hand I'm kind of glad they are starting to make half decent money. Means people have started to appreciate them a bit more.

Recon the Marina must be the ex-Practical Classics one. Can't be more than one done up like that, can there?!

Posted

Frig me, that Marina is da bomb! Just like the General from the old issues of Practial classics (IIRC).

Yep I remember that, photoshopped to look like they were jumping a hump back bridge and getting 10ft of air!

Of course it was! :D

The launch in May 1995 of the new Fiat Spider the Barchetta made for a seamless transition as a company, from classic to modern. We imported the first of them, stripped down to the bare essentials and converted to right hand drive (just to see if it could be done) it could, but was not really financially viable, as over 100 hours went into each conversion. We converted 6 models, including one for TVs Top Gear and two for export, but no more!

Unemployment forces sale. Unemployment of brain I'd imagine.

The paintwork is a real one off. One side is a picture of Kevin Rowland with an elastic band under his nose...

...and on the other is Charlie Read, one half of 'The Proclaimers'

'It's rumoured they were going to start a new super group called 'Dexy's Midlothian Runners' and this was to be their tourbus. To prove this I found a handwritten songsheet in the glovebox containing the following lyrics, hastily titled 'Spitroast Eileen:

When I wake up yeah I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who Comes on Eileen

When I go out yeah I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who Comes on Eileen's face with you

If I get drunk yes I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who gets sprays this van badly

And if I start coming yeah I know I'm gonna be

I'm gonna be the man who's Coming on Eileen's face with you'

Ha.

I had to read the ad to find out that its supposed to be Al Pacino as Tony Montana (from Cooba) and Pete-M as Brick-Top.

How the mighty have fallen (in price), went past this today and wondered if the price was actually correct.

The same garage have a tasty looking HC Viva for sale too I think.

The 3.2 is pretty guttless. I drove one a few years ago and was pretty grim. The 4.5's lively but they're all still hideous to look at.

Fuck me, that IS the Practical Classics "Generally" from the Dukes of Wisbech feature. The Marina Ecosse club were involved in the original build. I want that so much my toes are hurting.

Here's a video of it getting a refurb.
