@The Vicar

This is what High Jetter wanted to tag The Vicar about

He's still not showing for me. Am C of E though, but very lapsed.

This reminds me of my 350 quid Riviera (which is in significantly better shape).

Too bad it's so far away, would otherwise put an offer in.

I think it's also on gumtree with a bonnet up picture and the front panel is completed rotted out, total bran flakes. A good example of what happens when Detroit iron meets Scottish sea side.

Plate looks shite but could be gen. Prob rotten tho

First registered May 1972.

There is a brown 4.2 of the same spec currently being worked on at a garage near me (JYD 11K, April 1972 registered).

So how did this maroon 4.2 get those M plates? It should be an early Series 2 then, no?

I would imagine that it originally had a personalised registration, or a normal registration with just the number 1 in it, e.g, TSP1K. When it was re-registered, the Vehicle Licensing Office gave it the current year suffix (M), instead of giving it a K-reg, although it may have been the policy at the time to re-register vehicles with the current year suffix, rather than the one appropriate for its age. The last normal issue for Fife in July 1974 was ASP632M, so it was probably re-registered around that time.

The last Series 1s were M-reg.
