@LightBulbFun isn't that registration issue a more recent one? Seems fishy if so, considering the fact it's monumentally farked (and hasn't stained the queen's King's highway potholed mess which even the Romans would mock us for) within the last 30+ years...

And the interior plastics are very soft, so you overlook the crap hardware and software that is underneath

it does actually check out KSYxxx is a Midlothian county Council issue from April 1962 to February 1963 

but I am not surprised it caught your eye because PSY-YSY where all un-issued in period and later where issued from  June 1996 to Feb 1997 as an age related series

so it does LOOK like an age related plate, but in this case its not :) 

 

curiously however it is registered as a crane, go figure...
