Apparently good SD1 LT77s are now the sort of miracles Jesus would be chuffed to bits with but the R380 gearbox used in the Morgan Plus 8 and MG RV8s is a straightforward swap if you can get one of those. Otherwise it's out with the tape measure and finding a 'box that does.

 

There is some Toyota box that can be adapted. I think from a Supra. It has to be frankensteined with a Rover bellhousing.
