I've mentioned these before, here's another one, not 'homemade' more 'locally made'...

In Syria tax on commercials is/was much cheaper than on passenger cars and there's is/was a thriving  industry converting cars, pertinent to this thread, mainly into pick-ups.

This is a chopped Favorit estate, the chopper in this case was wielded by MTX. Locally these conversions are called 'trucklets'.

MTX are a Czech company better known for convertible versions of the Fav and Felicia and all manner of Czech motorsport including many single seaters so this would be quite a simple conversion by their standards.

Ah, so it could have been converted in the Czech Republic for export to Syria? That makes sense, the accompanying information was a little garbled; I guess they were talking about import tax differences between passenger and goods vehicles.

Just had a look at their website, very interesting, in fact, answering my own question....

Holy fuck. I wonder how long propshafts and gearboxes and diffs last.

Wonder what the turning circle is like.

If you were hitch-hiking across USA and this stopped would you accept a lift?

That is unreal. It should be on a T-shirt - 'What would Bart Simpson draw aged 4 using crayons?'

Hell….

I would be driving it.

Two years ago I tried to buy a C30 based camper in Colorado. To base in Missouri and use on my yearly road trips. You could smell the photos of the ad.

Truth be told, I will be driving this from the 21st August.

Do you still go on RR ?

Do you possibly recall where I posted that orange camper in Colorado??

The one that reminded us of Breaking Bad.

Can you maybe pull a few pics from there?

Thanks to @Westbay for fetching them off my road trip report on that site.

Pity I walked away ( or I would be told to 😉) as this years trip is 25 days and includes a load of new territory to be covered.

@CraigRK and I are doing it together this year.

You can zoom on the drivers side, it looked like a golf ball with all the hail damage.

You can almost smell the photos.

I bet there’s a lot of dna inside that.

And for me that’s the attraction.

Not the DNA but polishing these turds.

Making it good again.

I am in slight disbelief at just how bad this is. For example, why did they do this to the windscreen. Yes that's the front.

They've copied Morris with the widening just like on the original Minor.
