I fancied a pickup.........but all the ones I looked at in my mingebag price range were either dull/banjaxed [or both.] However....this appeared on Ebay.......post-2866-0-00273700-1545212835_thumb.jpgpost-2866-0-24572600-1545212856_thumb.jpgpost-2866-0-61315500-1545212930_thumb.jpg

Properly done, and registered on the V5 as a pickup...............used to be a Granvia..........3 litre 2 wd turbo diesel

Flame suit donned......

Probably one of the nicer things you can do to a Granvia.

Apparently these have the same engine as a Landcruiser........should go well with half the body / interior missing.........

Coffin me tea up here M8.

I have a proper Granvia. They’re very good. I can’t believe that guy sold at that price; it was up for £5k a few months back.

Nobody knows the cars better than him. I will likely be up there in the next day or two to get an exhaust from him.

Enjoy it. I think it looks fab!

RWD......as far as I know............wet roundabouts could be fun..........so could OMG SNOW KAOS.....

Sensible thing probably is to just get a Hilux.

But people doesn't have to be sensible. That's boring.

Does the "tailgate" open?

If it's watertight in the front, and drains out the back, what's not to like?

Posted

Tailgate does open................Might have to do something about those wheels though......

I can swap you for some proper ones!

Fuppin ace in a hideous way. Could you lacquer and then polish? Put some steel wheels on it and it will look even better. Looks like real wood too.

Loving this! Practical and plenty of poke. What could there be not to like here?

Looks like a decent standard of conversion too; way better than the usual eBay angle grinder 'n' mastic horrorshows - or some chump ruining an XJ40 for no particular reason.

Well bought, that man!

That's bloody brilliant!

Probably far better condition than any Hilux in your price range would be, as well.

The right TDI, the wrong one would be a PD TDI.

This Granvia looks alright but they have chocolate cylinder heads, beware.

Depends who you're selling it to.

VW people pay a premium for VW stuff, and they like the PD130/150 ones.

Non VW people, don't like VW's, and as such won't pay the premium.

As these things go, that's not as dreadful as it could be.  Nice shape to the B pillar since they just followed the line of the old side windows and the very tall bed on it gives it just a hint of Sherpa.  Great that it's properly legal too, so you can actually properly enjoy using it without all that faff.  Just chucking some silver paint at the wheels would probably be the cheapest way of improving them, then they wouldn't look quite so much like nasty wheel trims.
