Floatylight Posted August 23, 2024 Author Posted August 23, 2024 Fleet update time! Merc S203 C Class estate 200k miles, MOT passed, just needed a lower arm, had a service now done almost 30k miles in the 18m i've had it, it's been brilliant, sadly might be time to move it on and replace with something Brum Caz compliant due to work, should know in the next couple of weeks. Volvo XC60 - 161k miles MrsFL's daily, still need to get the AC sorted, still keeping on. Transit, almost finished converting to a camper, got next week off, hoping to make significant progress on finishing touches. Alfa Guilietta - SmollFL's - been brilliant, great to drive, economical, reliable, much like... TL-DR all good! chaseracer and MrGTI6 2

Marina door handles Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Nice to meet you too! I forgot to mention should you get bored and wish to take a wheel off, the car has a locking wheel nut key hidden in a cubby in the dash....... Floatylight 1
Floatylight Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 Additional (was) live breakdown excitement! MrsFL's XC60 runs out of fuel and we get told off by a grumpy policeman. Driving back from collecting the Accord Volvo says 50 miles of fuel left, journey is around 20.. About 4 miles from home Volvo cuts out in a 60 limit dual carriageway just after a bend and won't restart. I'm ahead and get a call double back and i'm just taking a look and plod pull up with blues & two's having had a call from someone, copper is quite grumpy that it might be fuel, very irresponsible etc etc.. call placed with autoaid and i go off to try getting fuel, at this point i'm not convinced as its been run way lower than this loads of times, i get back and copper has cancelled our breakdown and called their own recovery due to eta & dangerous position at our expense.. Thankfully, i get back put a can in and after a few goes it fires, thankfully we did the Accord transfer properly and ot was transferred taxed & registered else i would have had another bollocking... Oh well, all sorted now, just got to have a conversation with autoaid re the £25 they say we owe as over 9 years old... Dyslexic Viking, MrGTI6 and Coprolalia 3
Marina door handles Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Eeak bad luck on that breakdown, glad it wasn't the Accord..... 🤐 Floatylight 1

Floatylight Posted March 6 Author Posted March 6 Van MOT passed! Only needed a pair of wiper blades which is quite a result for an 11 plate transit with 235k on it. (If you ignore the advisories... clayts450, MrGTI6 and Dyslexic Viking 3
Floatylight Posted May 4 Author Posted May 4 Camper is now complete!!* *(almost, never actually complete) So time for a weekend away to Snowdon and Back Rock Sands. Now to get some more nights booked.. It's taken far too long, but I'm happy with how it's turned out considering how it started. Marina door handles, Sunny Jim, Dyslexic Viking and 3 others 6
Floatylight Posted May 19 Author Posted May 19 Off to France next week in MrsFL's Volvo XC60 ex @95 quid Peugeot thought I'd better get the clutch & DMF replaced as it's been slipping under heavy load for a while. Bit of faff picking it up from the garage as the electronic hand brake wouldn't auto release due to a neutral position sensor fault, they seemed to sort that but then wouldn't auto release next time applied, been out for a drive after tea and now seems fine, bit of a common problem it seems after clutch replacement has to relearn stuff. Cost £1400 but I suppose the original did 165k so to be expected! MrGTI6 1
