Junkman Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Since this year is almost over, it's time to make plans for next year. A sizeable AS delegation attended the inaugural event in 2016. Expected to be some half arsed giffer show, to everyone's surprise it turned out to be a superb spectacle with lots of noise, fumes and yes, speed. A return visit to the 2017 event proved to be not less satisfying. For this year, the event was not held in the town of Bromyard, it was integrated with the Shelsley Walsh hill climb, so we skipped it. But next year it'll return to Bromyard and thus we all should go again. https://bromyardspeedfestival.co.uk/ Attending are: 01 Junkman 02 Conrad D. Conelrad chaseracer, Ghosty, mat_the_cat and 2 others 5
dollywobbler Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 I should be there. I'm hoping to take the Invacar around... Junkman, chaseracer, Bamboocarman and 3 others 6
fraser.innes.3 Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Count me in. Bromyard is 5 mins drive from my house. Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk
red5 Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 Me. And probably some of the rest of the red squadron.
catsinthewelder Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 I'll do my best to turn up with something 1310 shaped. The 40 minute trip should be quite entertaining.
Asimo Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 In my diary. I will attend, subject to my still being alive and not getting a better offer.
chaseracer Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 I should be there. I'm hoping to take the Invacar around... SHOTGUN!! Ah no, wait... yellowperil and LightBulbFun 2
hairnet Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 SHOTGUN!! Ah no, wait...SHOEHORN!!!! chaseracer and LightBulbFun 2
Uncle Jimmy Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Went there the first time around and it was good, I'll buzz up there again.
Uncle Jimmy Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 I’ll do my best to be in attendance. Can you drive both of your Saabs there then we'll be able to pap three in a row?
Junkman Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 SHOEHORN!!!! Does that mean you'll be there, or what's the fucking deal? They have cake there of downright Austrian specification in quality as well as portion size.
brownnova Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Can you drive both of your Saabs there then we'll be sale to pap three in a row?I guess that’s a date to aim to get the second Saab back on the road by...
Inspector Morose Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Put me down too. You’re an arse. chaseracer, dollywobbler, Scruffy Bodger and 4 others 7
Scruffy Bodger Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 I'll do my best to turn up with something 1310 shaped. The 40 minute trip should be quite entertaining. Need a potential backup car? I'd be interested in this as haven't managed to get to the Speed Festival yet. catsinthewelder 1
Squire_Dawson Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Will there be lodging arrangements or is it a day job?
Junkman Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 We make it a day out. Considering the extra distance for you and your chod, you may want to arrange for a cantonment halfway.
D Spares & Tyres Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Yeah I'll come along. It's the day after my birthday and it's only up the road so I've no excuse really Scruffy Bodger and catsinthewelder 2
catsinthewelder Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 It will be good to see most of the local Shitters in one place, come on Mo you know you want to come too. Lord Sterling and Scruffy Bodger 2
Lord Sterling Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Oh yeah, forgot about this. Yeah, I'll be there too. What the hell in I don't know. If I'm out of car or money I'll find a way of getting there. catsinthewelder 1
Ghosty Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 I guess that’s a date to aim to get the second Saab back on the road by... I'll bring the 850 and interlope.
dollywobbler Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 As they want £40 to bring a classic and take part in the parade, I think I might be withdrawing my intention of taking part.
dollywobbler Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Still free to turn up and watch, so I guess I'll revert to that plan.
Squire_Dawson Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 What parade? I don't think the plan reached the stages of formality to go on parade. Usually AS just turn up and have a laugh. 40 quid is a rip off whatever it involves, I would expect an oil change and full valet for that.
Squire_Dawson Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Studying the website I am none the wiser, Junkman's comments regarding a giffer event echo in my mind, information is sparse to say the least. The parade appears to constitute laps of the town centre... can some seasoned veteran of Bromyard clarify?
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Bump! Can we re-create the excellent attendance we had here a few years ago? Studying the website I am none the wiser, Junkman's comments regarding a giffer event echo in my mind, information is sparse to say the least. The parade appears to constitute laps of the town centre... can some seasoned veteran of Bromyard clarify? This is exactly what it is.
Uncle Jimmy Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Seconded. Escort RS2000S going surprisingly fast through a rather pleasant town. There are several decent watering holes and pasties. A lot of pasties.
Uncle Jimmy Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 PARADE? Balls to a parade, never did that.Parked in a field at the top of town and got a FREE bus down the hill to the completely FREE event when I went 2 years ago.
