This is on my 'wish list' of cars to try (although to be honest I'd prefer a Legacy as have a hunch it would be a bit more comfy).  Impreza seems a practical beast though in estate form.

 

However, automatics should have 2.0 engines as a minimum so this ticks that box.  Couldn't give a shit about fuel consumption.
