Thats class. Great honest storytelling.

Feedback: do more of this.

(The videos, not the falling off or self doubt)

As you already know: do it again. And eat a banana.

Sound advice there, I'll get a bags for bananas for future rides ?

When I was learning to drive, my instructor made me eat a banana before every lesson and one right before my test. He taught me that the slow release carbs and sodium allowed for intense concentration and long lasting mental stamina.

After I passed (first time) he told me that of course the whole banana thing was a load of shit but it worked because I believed it.

Find your banana. It might be a Sanatogen washed down with lucozade or half an orange or spinning a crystal on a string round your head. Do something you believe in before you do something you're unsure of.

If you can convince yourself you're made of stone you can kick the devil square in the pods every morning before you brush your teeth.

This is now my complete checklist. I have a smokey quartz pendulum gathering dust you best believe that calming will be absorbed

Love the video. Short enough to be engaging, told in a really interesting way. I like the first person to camera style as it didn't try to be too fancy.

Looking forward to more of this... Plus a special guest appearance of Wilson squareds motoring tips

There is actually some truth to the whole banana thing. Not sure if it is the potassium in them but they do help keep you calm. I used to drink strawberry and banana smoothies when I was learning to drive, and especially before my test.

In a rather predictable turn of events, I'm too broke to keep the 205 running for its renewal at the end of this month, so am now pushing the Shite-zuki through an MOT so I can have transportation for a quarter of the running costs.

Father Tickman has helped put some foot pegs on so it should have no bother going through so fingers crossed for me!

The bike was dropped off on Monday for its test on Tuesday with the result of fail on the rear swing arm being a little* frilly.

This morning was get it out for assessment and fix/measure for replacement as they are unavailable so out it came.

Assessment time:

Fucked.

Will see how bad when attacked with a grinder.

First off was to keep it straight so a jig was made.

Not pretty

Chop chop time

Lots of measuring, cleaning up and some decent steel was shaped and in it goes.

You can see it is also underneath.

It got closed off and then some Hydrate 80 plastered on it.

Then we went home and added a bit of black which we thought made it look ace.

Screenshot_20200805-173639.thumb.png.66e9e6483ee2eeb98a8a58c34390b4f4.png

Then it got fitted.

Screenshot_20200805-173650.thumb.png.503b7cb12825cfe481f2447600ae3218.png

Looks ok in there.

Screenshot_20200805-173734.thumb.png.ab3b14f21dde1600ff3a18857c44c9d0.png

It was lined up, chain adjusted for the correct amount of slack and then we were done.

That is it running after adjusting the rear brake.

Done.

Jesus Harold Christ that arm was fucked. Amazing you re-metaled it back into a usable straight metal format.

Very well done.

Not seen a gusset that crispy in many's a long year!

Outstanding work to get it back in one piece and as good as new. Just as well it's been whisked away for a re-test as making old bits look as shiny and new as that bike has a habit of snowballing into a full restoration if left unchecked!

That swing arm looks braw and glad the bike only needed that to pass:)

Question of the day, does my 125cc motorbike fit in the back of a Peugeot Partner?

Not quite, but it can be made to fit:

Which resulted in:

Great news, now go and enjoy what's left of summer on 2 wheels. I'd advise fitting some fork gaiters and lightly greasing the legs underneath the gaiter. It's cheap insurance to stop that advisory getting any worse.

Sounds easy enough. I'll get on Amazon ?

The bike is a classic case of "always stored indoors never been out in the rain".

Nice repair job.

The bike has had a few miles put on it. Bar end protectors have already been fitted but a crash bar was planned.

The internet was searched and nothing suitable was found so plan B was put in place.

Some steel conduit and 3mm plate was dug out and some measurements taken then the frinders and welder were given some exercise. I had to do quite a few pie cuts to get the bend but it came together well.

Some stand offs were needed to clear the exhaust.

Done.
