Thing is though, the op provided as explained previously here that he had got records from the issuing county council and backing (authentication) and DVLA still bounced his application for the application, and an age re!ated plate, even a Q reg.

If we're talking about XPD 805 then that's because yours is already on the DVLA system and registered. You should have a V5 as proof of registered keeper. Last one was issued in 1983 so one did exist at some point after computerisation. A V62 will get you that paperwork in your hand. You should do that to be fully legit as otherwise currently it's not registered to you.

That maybe the case but until it's registered on the road and (if necessary on class) be insured then it is not legal.

His is not registered and therefore not road legal - if it can't be registered it can't be used outside of privately owned land. It really is that simple. I don't know the full details, but until he has managed to get it registered, he can't use it on the road but he was - and that is the only point anyone made here.

Yours, if its registered, and has the necessary tax and mot exemption applied and is insured - fill yer boots.

I can't see anywhere (using man-looking admittedly) where you are attempting to register it as a Class 3 L4 or L5 or a Class 4 L5 (Mot)  vehicle? Afaik it's the only way to re-register appropriately.

The Registration number/DVLA being over zealous after years of doing nothing despite mutliple cases of misuse/abuse of the system is well documented and as such, unsurprising.
