Expand indeed sadly thats always the case, my favourite ones are the ones saying that they should give these out instead of motability vehicles, to "stop people from claiming" something tells me they dont realise that, motability vehicles are something you very much have to pay for! and that if a claimant wants a fancy BMW or something then you very much have to pay for the difference up front with their own cash where as Invacars where given out entirely for free, on cost to the tax payer, complete with fuel allowance! but very cool to see VJN out and about and papped On 22/04/2022 at 09:08, Harriytait said: That's me at work on Tuesday, I was waiting for someone to say they spotted her lol Expand hah, I like how it takes Zel about 3 years to properly get papped, but you get papped in about 5 minutes On 22/04/2022 at 09:49, kirton said: in my browsing I found: https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/171470-invacar-transport-wagons/ they get everywhere Expand Neat! theres someone there clearly aware of this thread, so for whoever it is, heres a montage of Invalid vehicles on Wagons I did a while back which hopefully will help with their research On 14/01/2022 at 11:28, LightBulbFun said: Certainly there where many a 3 wheelers transported on carfit's! the Ministry's main method for transport invalid vehicles was by rail, so it was a common sight to see them transported by rail I dont know exactly how they where loaded however! (although depending on how much it weighed legally it aint one, certainly its not an invalid carriage, its an invalid vehicle at best LOL) heres the text a bit more zoomed incase the forum softwares annoying image shrinking is making it hard to read although im getting the impression that its sort of a "We have this thing, now lets try and find a way to market it" much like the Elswick Envoy (or when the hovercraft was first invented) rather than something actually designed as a disabled persons vehicle from the ground up like the Invacar was

LightBulbFun Posted April 23, 2022 Author Posted April 23, 2022 got a bit board, got one of REV's old rear lights working again (by some "genius" design they earth the entire light through the indicator lamp sockets springy contact platform, dont know why they could not of just directly earthed on the metal body of the light, which is earthed anyway as the indicator lamp is a single contact item) in a very me sort of thing, the first "indicator" bulb I could lay my hands on was this oddball US General Electric one, thats 12W not 21W, I presume for some sort of federally mandated side light/side marker/orange marker thing that most US cars have, im sure @PhilA will know exactly what application its intended for I got it in 2004 from a family friend who sent us a gift package from the states the other bulb is just some generic item I had kicking around, with a saggy 5W filament LOL, (annoyingly I could not find where I placed the goody bag of soviet car bulbs Zel gave to me from the Lada) next up, lets see if I can get the head lights working! well whats left of em anyway LOL AdgeCutler and Yoss 2

I figured thats what it was for those lights used to confuse the heck out of me when I was young, they looked like indicators but they where always on, and I could never figure out what (or why) they where for... Expand yeah, I dont like the fact its orange, because to me orange=indicator and I could see it being confusing in that regard but I agree on the less glaring then bright white in-fact thats one of my big annoyances with modern LED head lamps etc, is that they always go for 4000K+ colour temperatures, which is really quite glaring when really for this sort of stuff, I feel like a warmer colour temperature should be mandatory *mumbles something about selective yellow and the french*

Sheefag Posted April 23, 2022 Posted April 23, 2022 Roy Haynes was the interesting bloke behind ElecTraction, He designed a range of motors including the Cortina Mk2.
