I’d like to add these, owned by a work colleague who has on numerous occasions ripped the piss out of me for driving a Kia cee’d as my daily driver, and for owning 2 old fiats.

The old Audi blew up, and when it come to replacing it, it had to be another Audi because they are the best cars in the world apparently, this one looked after meticulously by the looks of it.

I come not to resurrect this thread, but to win it.

A hire freighter turned up on Friday. It had this quality rubber fitter.

BandagHotread

The truck retread division of Bridgestone no less. Back in the 80's it was regular to see a truck sporting an "I'm running on Bandags" sunstrip.

Weirdly not a Chinese brand, Indonesian/Singaporean. More commonly seen over here as GT Radial.

Spotted on a pretty powerful looking Mustang at a meet the other weekend. Lots of money for the engine, less so for the bit that grips?

I’ve got some Le-gripps or something on my car. Just ordered some new tyres though now.

My ropey saab 9-5 has some interesting brands. “Royal explorer II” sounds like a boat’s name which somehow doesnt inspire much confidence.

My friend still has some ancient “TIGAR” covers on his little used triumph stag. He said its tail happy (!)

Apparently owned by michelin since 2010. His tyres are definitely from the earlier Serbian owned days.

Maybe going to do burn outs. Not much point in buying premium.

Our 74 plate MAN TGE van at work came with Giti tyres from new. Boss wasn't impressed at first, as the Sprinters have always come with Continentals. It's on Michelin Agilis 3s now anyway, as they're what the boss always gets on our vans. The Gitis lasted about 40,000 miles mind, not bad for one of our vans.

Sigura, 620 or 621? 😄

My Ora has Giti tyres as standard. They have acted perfectly in ice, snow and heavy rain. No loss of grip on rapid acceleration. No ditches have been found.

Giti is not a ditchfinder company. They're good tyres. Maybe they're not quite Michelin, but they're among the better tyres out there

Giti is a slightly amusing name though

I call them jit-ees, but I suspect I should be calling them gee tees. Here's a skin crawlingly awful publicity film of theirs where they seem to pronounce it ji te, a quicker version of gee tee, to avoid the complete and absolute bollocks fast forward to 35 sec. I was surprised to learn that they are actually a Singaporean company.

The hire company fit some absolute crackers to their trucks.
