Even trucks aren't immune from the bizarre brands. Saw one today with a right mix of ditchfinders: Doublecoin on the front, Aeolus on the middle and Fastlane on the drive axle. I've never heard of any of those.

Some serious budget rubber on the side of the Merc that I don't usually see.

I had to look up Giti - apparently its pronounced GT. They are a Singaporean company with factories in Indonesia and China and they are building a new one in the USofA. Their test centre is here in Blighty, based at MIRA.

Isn't this a Pirelli winter tyre? Pirelli Sottozero? (under zero degrees Celsius)

Anyway, I used to have a set of four of these beauties:

^^^ Suitable for Ponies, Mustangs, Starrions etc (add your own and yes I know I put Starrion - you must be familiar with the story by now).

Sure some of these have appeared before, but I was looking my closely at my friend's cars (and his neighbours 4x4) and found many strange names in one place.

The Headway wasn't a Horace, much to my disappointment

Don’t have any pics but, a guy I once worked for came into the workshop positively beaming (very unusual for him) and announced that he’d found a new tyre firm who would improve on the current one. A few days later one of the lorries suffered a puncture, we all waited eagerly to see the gleaming new tyre when it returned. The old Double Coin had been cast away, and replaced by a Double Happiness! Such a romantic name.

in fairness they were skip lorries, and working in London all day meant they rarely got above 30MPH. I wouldn’t be splashing out on Bridgies or Michelins either.
