Fantastic rocking-horse-shit-type car.

Graham, is that your Fiat 500 in the background of one of the photos? If so, my TotalCarCheck app says the road tax ran out last year.

Apologies for being nosey...

Stunning! Love the details on that- the clamshell bonnet and slam panel remind me of a Range Rover, and I'm trying to place where those door handles have been sourced from (Peugeot 104?)

That's fucking ace! I'm no plate rapist myself but does it come with that reg, it's probably worth quite a bit to the right ego.

More pictures and info please.

Yes, I like the plate too, but it will stay with the car!

Good for you, IMO it's part of its story and it's character. I wonder what th story is- why someone chose a distinctive, showy statement of a plate for the car to then be locked away pretty much immediately.

Probably from a Renault. There are a lot of Renault 12 parts on it. The engine is a Renault 1400 also used in the likes of Renault 5, 11, 18 & 19 plus Fuego and Volvo 340

The plate was a personal reg belonging to the supplying dealer, Scarborough 4x4 Centre, who meant to remove it when they sold the car to the previous owner, but they never got round to doing so (thankfully!)

That is remarkable, I remember seeing the barn photos on Facebook last year but I haven't seen it cleaned up, it looks spanking! You lucky man!

I *knew* I'd seen an article in one of my magazines about one of these, so I've just been to dig it out. A used buyer's guide from 1997 - too late for this purchase but I guess there'd be no point looking for another one...
