Took MrsR for a little run in the Vectra the other day, taking advantage of some sunshine.  She actually likes it!

What has made me smile/grin/restored my faith in humanity this week is the general helpful and patient attitude of fellow shiters.

I made my merry way to sunny (when I got there) Maidstone to meet Vantman of this very parish and I swapped pictures of the queen for a sublime slice of mid-noughties executive saloonery in the shape of a superb Saab 9-3. The engine is a peach, it has multiple speeds of automaticness, buttons galore and he was extremely accomodating when local cash machines decided they perhaps didn't want to provide quite as much cash as I had anticipated. The drive back was comfortable, and much works carpark points have been scored.

AS people really are the best kind of people in this world. I'm a very happy boy.

on the run home this afternoon, the only cool vehicles on the road was a red tin lizzy i passed on the A1M northbound.

it was on the back of a trailer but it looked ace, and then on the A19 i passed a minty, minty, mint white mark 4 escort ghia. damn thing could have come off the line just the other day. that was ace too.

Tell him to check his oil

It's ok it's a Toyota, they're indestructible . He'll probably never open the bonnet during his ownership.

Getting ready to move house next month so thought I'd better get the Dyane mobile. Fuel pump's goosed so rigged a fuel supply from the washer bottle, twenty seconds cranking and she roared into life. Not bad after eight years slumber . Even bigger grin is that the next house has a mahoosive barn so I can finally get on with restoring the Dyane........ My saph had a small rip on the outer bolster of the drivers seat that had been annoying me for ages but no suitable matching seats have come up for sale, I've finally got a pair of seats that are in good condition, i ended up with a pair of recaros that match the print of the rest of the seats as no good condition standard ones were around, i gave them a clean as they were grubby from being stored in the fellas loft, they dried pretty quickly in the sunshine, i cleaned my back seats yesterday in anticipation, while the seats were out I got to give the car a good hoover,

Here are the seats, what a difference they make to the look and drive

Got to love a comfy old Recaro, they were the best bit about my old Escort RST, had them in my Capri too and even managed to shoehorn a Capri pair into the front of my Ka !!!!

Handing the post van over to whoever is working next week knowing I have the whole week off always cheers me up no end

Funny enough the recaros are what I love about mrs fp's s2 rs turbo, they are just so comfy and supportive without being over the top
