What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Will look for for 1.8td's next year then! Browsing ebay/auto trader the amount of utterly fucked my2000 facelift types outnumbered decent running older ones 10-1. I decided last night that OMGALLMODERNCARZRSHIT. Shame as 1.9TDDCIBOMBS are plentiful and cheap.

I'd take boring and reliable any day thank you! Want the leather though, it looks fucking comfy! Missus's uncle is a banger racer, might ask him nearer the time to put his feelers out and see if he can save a good one from the oval for me (he has some sense, and is only happy sending completely fucked cars to the oval rather than anything that could potentially be saved, unless he's tried to save it and failed.)

DMF's gonna get yer. That's what kills the newer Mondeo diesels and that's the reason they're desperately cheap now.

Them and DCI Laguna's, which is a shame as I found myself liking them, but slapped myself and told myself not to be so stupid.

Although it would be cheaper to buy a blown one as a shed, than buy a proper shed (got a mate after a shed, and they go for more than a laguna on ebay!)

Unusually my wife told me she had a nightmare last night, something about buying an old Rover. It had genuinely upset her a little.

I can only think that I was reading Mr Bs tat collection capers last night in bed and some weird psychic shit happened in the night.

Don't forget injectors.

If you can hold a spanner, you can change your DMF/clutch/starter/slave cylinder for about £400.

I shall be doing this when the mild rattle on mine increases tenfold in severity - or the starter fills with that much swarf that it becomes a PITA to start.

I can buy a great pez/old derv whole car for £400, I don't want to get into scrapping a good car because of some consumable issue, staying away from that*

*If I'm offered a Laguna DCI for £10 and it's legal I might find it hard to refuse though...

Shit the bed. Check out the state of this lot! It's like a kwik-save version of the cars and girls thread but on a calender and costs 12 quid.

Good friend of mine is currently in parts foreign and has been playing working with tigers before heading home.  He has a blog http://shamantiger.wordpress.com/

I'm a little bit jealous, I mean how awesome is this?  I want to be taken for a walk by a tiger.

For ease of handling the tigers are drugged... with copious amounts of chicken.

Accept I might have missed the point, but I'm seeing tigers on leads and chains and I'm asking myself why that could possibly make anybody happy.

Check the link to his forum.  He does a fair bit of conservation work and this is one of the rare environments where he gets to handle the animals and work with them in captivity outside of the usual western world of zoos and the like.  Leads and chains are more for the safety of the handlers than the animals and they're certainly not badly treated.

If that calendar was 99p (like it should be) I would buy one for a laugh.

2/10 for effort.

Bloody hell, talking of ebay I've just won a £20.00 pair of headphones for £2.41.

Nothing like that has happened to me on there for years - like the old days where you could actually win stuff in auctions for bargain prices.

Surely if that tiger so felt like it I can't really see how that lead would stop him eating his handler or anyone else in sight tbh...

Knew I should've led that grin with this picture instead.  Never mind.

I have a good success rate on ebay purchases, still. Funnily enough, the stuff I sell never goes for pennies though...

Even if those chains are for the safety of humans, it's still very sad to see such a magnificent animal held in captivity.

It doesn't appear long enough for the tiger to even move.

I do realise that if the tiger wasn't being cared for by these people, that it could face a terrible scenario.

Equally, it could also have a happy, free life.

Irrespective of the OMGTIGERTORTURE, that guy's blog has given me a huge grin. I'd love to be able to just take off and do that kinda stuff for a while.

It just smacks of some sort of 'animal welfare' that basically means people who don't seem to fully understand that they're a beast of the wild, and some 'right on'  people who go to 'help' but just want to stroke a big cat.

Of course saving these animals is a priority, but they're not a toy or something to be chained up, it's actually quite sickening to see to be honest. No offence intended Vulgalour.
