I'm guessing he drove it straight out of the showroom and back into it again to do that.   Astonishing.

The 306 na dizzler is earning its keep been doing 330 miles a week in it. Its taken my whole old kitchen to the tip.

Apart from dodgy electrics now and then it's a mega car.

Or something went wrong getting it on/off the transporter

My guess would be that it never reached its first owner and after they did they PDI, whoever was sent to the petrol station to slosh a tenners worth in decided to see what it could(nt) do.

My neighbour wrecked his new 309GTi on the journey home from the showroom, apparently an American tourist had gone down the wrong side of a dual carriageway. I never saw the damage but he let the insurance company repair it, I would have insisted on a new car.

odd damage on the Astra, looks worse than it is as there are no headlights as well I guess but it appears to have gone over the top of something pretty hard.

If it was done at the dealer I would have thought they would be sorting the repair themselves with trade price parts and labour,

So it's an Astra? Intersting...

You could put all of this newfangled shit in an auto quiz and I'd be unable to identify any of it.

Remember my neighbour's friend with the green Chevette who came to visit not long ago? Well he turned up again yesterday in this, a dead ringer for a local one that my dad almost bought a few years back.

Turns out he also has a rubber bumper Midget bought new in '77 and a K10 Micra. He'd fit right in here but I don't think he does the internets.

Thought I'd lost the Maestro keys yesterday, couldn't find them anywhere. Walked down to the garage thinking I'd left them in the ignition. Went to open the door and saw them sitting on the garage door handle! I reckon I must have dropped them outside last time I was working on the car, and someone who'd seen me working on the car had spotted them with the MAESTRO keyring, put two and two together and left them on the door for me. Thanks whoever you are! Good to know there's still some decent people about.

Took my brand new jacket off yesterday to avoid getting it dirty whilst a-framing the 944. Realised a few hours ago I'd left it on to of the bins - where it still lay. A bit wet, but all in once piece.

I parted with £400 on Friday evening and came home with this:

Despite your predujice, I am the winner. :D

After mucking out the interior on Saturday:

Also, I was out playing pool on Saturday night and I drove the wrong way down a one-way street. OMGCALLDACOPZ

A taxi driver - parked half on the kerb - made my chosen route a little tight.

Despite this, I still squeezed between him and a car parked on the left. As i drew alongside, there was a conversation:

Him: "This is a one-way street."

Me: *Listening and nodding in agrreement* Yeah it is. It makes a change when it's not a taxi doing this, eh?"

Him: *Attempting to stammer a retort*

Me: *Drove away laughing at him*

Fuck you taxi wankers. It's different when you decide to do a three-point turn in front of me, or park on the opposite side of the road, headlights ablaze.

Fark me, vicar, that looks a right bargain. It also makes me feel slightly less guilty about very nearly buying a BMW Z3 today.

Just saw an A40 Farina on the M25 keeping up with the traffic and looking great. The bit that made me smile was the sat-nav glowing away on the screen, don't know why it should, but it cheered me right up!

Posted

It has a (patched) bullet hole in the rear screen - show me one that hasn't, and it's had a replacement rear bumper from a newer model. As you can see, the plastic arches don't fit right.

You can buy an aftermarket, heated glass screen kit for about £250, or a company does a replacement hood with standard plastic window for £150 exchange.

I reckon £200 will have it looking great and be fully functional. It has 10 months test and three months tax and has covered 40K miles.

It has an impressive spec imo. It's also quite nippy, and fun (jerky geabox aside).

The girl selling it was after £500 ono.

Unfortunately none of the scratchies were winn0rs!

RWD turbo-charged, lightweight convertible. What's not to like? (Lol)

What engine was the Z3?

5HTP is meant to be one of those natural hangover cures (that don't work). Yes, I have tried it.

1.9 I think. I have come to my senses now (if that's actually possible) and decided it's a stupid idea. But a 6 cylinder 'coupe' 3 series may not be.

I thought you may say the 1.9. I have never driven one, but I hear they aren't amazing.

Your second plan sounds better.

Personally, I would like a Z4. Too much money though.

My mate asked for those 5HTP things. He said they are mood enhancers. I say just smile!

That Smart looks a total bargain! Jammy bugger!

Cheers mate! Hopefully it is. I am trying to persuade my mam to take it on. If she doesn't want it, then it should turn a nice profit, as originally intended.

It never ceases to amaze me how little value some people place on their 'old' cars. That, and the fact the lass selling it is a photograpgher, but included no pictures in the ad.

What the hell is "Pearson Flicks" going on about in my comments here?!

"Mr Sando asked me to include a Morris Ital estate car that paid homage to a Mk II Ford Granada he used to own and Donatello Ramon Johnson also suggested a Morris Ital 2.0 with automatic transmission and alloy road wheels which suffered from gearbox failure and blowing head gaskets."

And theres more where that came from...

You know it's entirely possible there's some chap out there with some learning difficulties who has a bit of an obsession with Morris Itals.
On that basis he'd fit in well here.

Met YugoLada and his parents yesterday. Reminds me of me when I was his age but even more enthusiastic. Crich was a fab day out, I will upload the phots when I can

That Smart looks like an ace buy for the money.

I had a dream last night about buying a dark blue Citroen XM for £220 with MOT but no tax and being mega excited about it.

As you were.

The Morris Ital with 2.0 litre O Series OHC engine in my stories could be optioned in HLS, SLX GHIA and GHIA S trim. The HLS and SLX models had their own wheels whereas the GHIA and GHIA S models had alloys as standard. The five speed manual transmission versions of the Pearsonian Morris Ital 2.0 lasted until the end along with the Huntsman red Morris Ital estate cars.
