^^^ Precisely! Football, blah, football, blah, snore, snore.:)

Jon's shit-kicking wheels - yay! :D:D

Posted

They look like XR2 pepperpots from some other dimension where circles are now square. obviously not all circles otherwise the wheels themselves would be square which is no good as you probably already know. Mythbusters even confirmed it if you are going to be argumentative

Nice work Watt, you now own one of the coolest sets of OEM wheels ever made.

Isuzu Piazza?

Don't look Cavalier to me, more like 1980s Toyota or something.

It means they are 4x100, don't tell the lads off Wheel-Whores or they'll end up wanking themselves into an early grave over the prospect of fitting them to a Lupo.

which I actually think would look alright

Mrs S looked at those wheels and said "They look like a potato masher, what are they off?" I said "Isuzu Piazza" and carried on scrolling down the page. I now look like a wheel ID god (in my head - Mrs not surprised or impressed)

I'm clearly getting old - listening to Dave Pearce's Radio 2 Dance Years from Saturday night on the iPlayer and really, really quite enjoying it...

I don't know if this is a grin or the depressing reality of the electronic age we live in but here goes:

There's been a MEGA cheap t25 listed on Gumtree three times now. It's less than scrap money, but definitely a genuine ad. I've emailed each time saying yes I will buy it, full asking price etc and got no reply. Clearly the seller is an idiot, or not recieving messages from Gumtree. They left no phone number in the ad, All I worked with was a rough location and a picture of a yellow T25 with a white roof at the end of a driveway.

I've managed to get the street address from the rough location using google street view to find the van parked on the drive, and then googling the address eventually found the WHOIS records for a website belonging to the lad's son, which gave me a surname. Bit more googling, turns out the seller is a lecturer at Heriot-Watt University and I've got his email address from their website.

cobblers: sherlock shitemaster :D

Good work, Cobblers. When you go to meet the seller, wear a black poloneck and mutter "must get back to Thames House" :D

Sadly, the van is 250 miles away and doesn't run so (assuming I get a reply) I'll just be sending a drone off Shiply to fetch it back on an hilariously overloaded trailer behind an old merc running on veg oil as seems to be the fashion thesedays.

Nice one Jon, what wheels are they??

When I get some cash I should probably buy the other two I know of in the States. Then if the two dirty ones turn out to be no good, I've still got a set of four. If I want a spare I might have to start bothering some of the peeps on the Isuzu Piazza forum in Australia.

I haven't seen them yet. Norm's looking after them for me, along with a massive Stahlberg Amazon model that appeared on septic Bay very cheaply.

Oh, and a couple of dubbers on RR found out I have them, and have offered me quite a lot of cash. I told them I'd rather set them on fire then see them bolted to a fucking Golf \ Polo \ slag VW derivative.

I went to the post office and witnessed OMG ALL OF THE STAMPS panic-buying... being encouragedby the lady behind the desk!! The little old lady had asked for 1 second class stamp, to which the lady behind the desk said, "do you know they are putting the price up at the end of the month? 2nd class will be 50p and 1st will be 60p, so do you want to get some more while they are still the lower price? You can still use them after the end of the month, because they only have 1st or 2nd written on them."

Little old lady took a little while and looked like she gave a lot of consideration to the proposal before saying:

Ok. I better have one 2nd class and one 1st class stamp then please.

How sweet.

Is it National Fast Hearse day today? This morning I got overtaken at over 80mph by one, then this afternoon on the M1 was passed on the inside (undertaken!?!) by a K plate Rover conversion with "Time Capsule" stuck on the windows...

Cobblers is da man when it comes to the spooks game.

I'd been feeling pretty good myself this week after using freecarcheck.com on a mystery reg number that appeared on the fuel invoice at work. Came back as a white Nissan Cabstar so I gave the boss a list of local companys that I knew used them. Came back negative but a stroke of luck came when I spotted it parked in town. Covered in builders dust and a copy of the Sun wedged on the dash so I had a quick scout round for building sites. No joy there lets try the bookies....success :D

Found the owner and very publicly extracted whose invoice it should* have been on, let the girls in the office sort it out with the garage. Feel good in a slightly nerdy way

I re-watched Senna last night. I didn't spot this whenever Kate and I went to see the movie at the Queens Film Theatre.

The film was a bit meh, but I must admit I had a lump in my throat when it came to the bit where he 10/50'd at Tamburello.

The safety cars back then all seemed to be... umm a little shiter than these days, all the medical cars seemed to be shite tastic saloons as opposed to AMG Mercs.

You wouldn't perchance know when it's next on at QFT? I really regret missing it on the big screen but can't seem to find the next showing on their site.

Ooo, a Cav Turbo! Unless some joker has bolted tubby wheels to a V6.

The best thing about F1 right now is the safety car. Sounds amazing, in a way the race cars just don't. Surely that's a bit wrong? They could improve F1 very cheaply by just making all the teams use Stag V8s. They'd sound an awful lot better, and the random-element of sudden and instant HGF would add a sense of drama.

I've no idea what QFT is but the Senna movie is on Skys F1 channel tonight at 9pm.

1. Top sunset.

2. I now own six Piazza waffles.

3. Amusing wildlife. The squirrel below drives FATHA_WATANABE insane. It steals the nuts from his bird feeder every day, which he put up with great care specifically to stop the posh rats from nicking. Today, it decided it wanted ALL THE NUTS so instead of leaping improbably on to it over a stupid distance (like it normally does) the grasping little shit knocked it off a thick branch that it was screwed on to:

With the aid of Pete-M's 135mm Pentacon, I got this shot of the little bleeder:

And yes, he is posing for the camera. He heard me snapping away and stood like that for a good thirty seconds.

Crafty little fucker. He's dug up half the garden in order to store them. About ten minutes later an enormous fuck off hawk thing came and ate a blackbird whole.
