What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Did a school trip to Saltcoats (or Sulkitts, as the locals call it) this morning, parked the bus up and went a walk...

12 cassettes (GR8 4 MAH CAVALEERS), three videos (including what looks to be a potentially awesome 827 Vitesse thrash round the Isle of Man at 100+ mph) and one of the Viz annuals I'm missing for about seven quid in total, got home and the press release I'd purchased on the bay had arrived giving the complete breakdown as to what the Cavalier Classic actually is. Marvellous.

Much better day than yesterday - if a silver, 40k mile, 54-plate Mazda 6 appears on Copart with no back end that was me... err... sorry and that. Court date acoming...

Any chance you could please scan/post up the Cavalier press report?

I remember you mentioning that Renner Six. What a stunner! I really must get a set of pre-facelift back lights sorted for mine...

It's a bit 'frilly' on the front wings and sills, but it wouldn't take much to get it tip-top. As has been previously intimated, I couldn't loiter too long to get any really decent pics!

Brilliant, many thanks.

God knows where they get 50mpg from though!

Wow, they are something special!

+3.

That really is top drawer stuff.

As requested. I'm seriously not proud of this but 18 tonnes of Volvo does not stop easily downhill in the rain when the car in front stops. Slid about fifty feet before I hit him, which wasn't bad going for 25mph...

No injuries, other than his golf clubs. Two years he'd been waiting to play the course he was heading to, apparantly. My Volvo should be sporting a new bumper and grille tomorrow as the boss wasn't pleased with my suggestion of a mesh grille, some spotlights and an Aussie style bull bar...

He didn't phone the police, ironically enough, but someone travelling the other way. Been charged by the cops... just need to wait and see now...

I'm sure the guy will get over his missed golf day with the whip lash payout he'll get, So was it your fault then?.

I wasn't speeding, but the damp road and a lollypop crossing half way down a hill wasn't a great recipe for success. I crested the hill (which took me bloody ages to get up with no turbo), the car stopped about sixty feet down the road, I hit the brakes and the bus locked up on me, which is surprising as neither of the pair of them have retarders and the brakes are normally shite. I had nowhere to go and momentum did the rest.

I hit him so it'll be my fault, charged with driving without due care and attention, need to wait for the court date to come through for my fate.

Now you just have to hope to fuck that the judge/sheriff hates golf and golfers, of which there is very little chance.

^^Ahh, remember now. WTC's better half it was. 8)

Lol! I wouldn't describe her a a siren, Norm!

I'm sure someone else posted a pic of their other half as well.

Fucking WANKERS on fixed-gear bikes with no fucking brakes because it's fucking trendy.

Just got ridden into as I was using a zebra crossing; hit me in the knee. The same knee with two previous injuries and extensive cruciate damage that I'm waiting to hear if I need surgery on...

You can diss Mk2 Mondeo's all you like but my 15 year old 2.0 Ghia with 120k on the clock has just gone through the MOT just needing a brake pressure valve replacing on the rear, £3 from the scrappy! (Bit annoying as it needed nothing on the last 2 tests!)

It still drives great, the aircon still works and it is holding up against the tin worm very well too. If the twat towing the horse box hadn't ripped half my bumper off on a roundabout a couple of years back it would still be gaffa tape free as well!

I'd have another tomorrow.

Newark and Sherwood District Council just popped a council tax refund into the post for me, a hundred quid thankyou very much! :D

Mot ran out on the Leon.

On the 27th August

It..... passed?!?!?!

Only an advisory on the wishbone too, but they're far cheaper than anyone else I've asked so it's going in next week for that anyway. £85 fitted and tracked, compared to National Autocentres - £185!

I'm well chuffed, for all the grief this car has given me for it to relatively sail through an MoT is good news indeed.

Seen a new VW van today with an expensive looking full length roofrack. It had two full width flashing beacons fitted - 1 front 1- rear. You cant use the rack now as these take up the room

Oh that reminds me, A mate yesterday told me of a young girl he's seen driving about in a immaculate red early MG Metro in my side of town, he said it looks like a hand me down from a elderly relative, I must keep my eyes open for it.

What did the comeuppance involve? I'm a student of comeuppance.

6'3" and 250lb of angry bearded northerner swinging his posemobile against a lampost, bending the frame and breaking a wheel.

I've had time to calm down now. Not proud of it but meh; his fault.
