I agree Louise, Ace threads, This is what AS should be about not bitching and swearing at other members like a bunch of 10 years old.

I've just driven to town and back which is about a 3 mile round trip, in this time I've driven past a H reg Lancia Thema I.E, a F reg Fiat Tipo, a badly dented D red Mazda 323, a C reg Nissan Micra, D reg VW Golf and a old looking 3 wheel Piaggio pick up... and trust me to have no camera on me!

Glad to see they used some imagination and had a MK3 Sceptre, not the usual 'it's the 70's so lets use a MK3 Cortina'. Would hardly have been the choice of a hip 'n' happening record shop owner, tho'...

Oh, and WTF was going on with the family in the corner shop with a Minor traveller? Datsun 120Y, surely?

The amount of shite I've seen over the past few days is amazing, original Mini Van in a shitey condition yet still being used as was intended. Volvos! loads of 'em an old E-plate Merc S-class along with early mk3 Ford Escorts and a smattering of Fiestas. (And a rather dead looking D-plate Metro in that ketchup Red colour)

Yeh, wanted to see this and for some unknown reason thought I could remind myself. Suffice to say I completely missed it and only got reminded seeing this thread.

You can watch it there.... it is a bit rubbish though although the record shop is cool. Not sure why there is a Jensen 541 parked up though, hardly a 70s motor.

hardly, indeed - but what a fab car!

A 541 would have been around and in use in the 70s, so why not? I'd rather see that in shot than some post-setting nonsense... I can remember an FE Victor in an episode of Heartbeat, oops!

The Fred Dibnah Story on YeSTERDAY - nuff said.

and thanks to Redsparrow for mentioning it otherwise I would have missed it!

I went down to the field where I store / dump some of my cars today. The Meastro hasn't turned a wheel since the MOT expired in early October so I thought I'd better have a look at it.Parked on some hard standing with just a horsebox and and the shell of a Range Rover for company the little Austin was still covered in snow.To my surprise the door lock wasn't frozen (minus 10 yesterday) so I opened it up and lifted the bonnet. The anti-freeze has done it's job so back inside the car to see if it starts. The Mighty Meastro is a runner, well after turning over for ages and fiddling with the choke it spluttered into life.

If I can spare some change in the run up to naff present exchange day I might get the car MOTed.I was so impressed with the car starting after being left outside in all the weather we've been having that to celebrate I went to the baker's and bought some jam doughnuts.
