The M56...Really!

Today on my way home from WATsville I joined the 56 westbound at Altrincham only to find that the motorway was not only closed in the other direction but it was also closed behind me.

I had a whole motorway to play with as far as the M6 intersection 5 miles away.

It's a somewhat surreal experience travelling at well over two and a half miles a minute for so long without seeing another vehicle, in fact it was more like driving on a rolling road.

Fuck me, Waz_T_Claim, what are you driving nowadays?

Yeah, well over that.

There was literally not one other car in front or behind me for five miles.

I'd have been more than a little concerned it was closed for a reason, and I'd round the next bend at 120mph to find Bellend and Knobsack from Police! Interceptors! Thugs!

I had visability for a mile at least. If there was another car on the road I wouldn't of done it.

Wasn't suggesting you were driving in an unsafe manner, just pointing out my own paranoia :)

"This is great!! Hang on a second..... nothing great ever happens....."

2.5 miles a minute is a hundred and fifty miles an hour.

I move in with a man tomorrow. a yuppie type. erk! No, not "turned" but agreed to a houseshare. £300 a month all inclusive for half a brand new two-bed place in a private courtyard. No other bills :) Plus, it seems my estate agent friend is hardly ever there, and likes shiny things so it's got a mahoosive tv, surround sound thingie, very posh kitchen..... when I went for a look around there was a bin full of champagne bottles!

Wonder how the courtyard-users with their 60-plate SAABs and Audis are going to react to a filthy Golf dripping oil everywhere, and my sinister looking friends coming around.

Still, should be good. I currently spend £200 a month on petrol and this place is walking distance from work, so all in it's not costing me a lot and it gets me out of my mum's house. Aged 31, that's quite an important factor.

I found a copy today, Mrs Trigger has been mocking me about how her photo is in it and mine isn't :(

My all time mpg high. Much as I hate diesels, they can't half squeeze some mps out of a g if you keep 'em rollin'.

That's the average after about 20 miles of A-road meandering around Shropshire last week. I've managed 64 in the past, once, but this freaked my chicken. An old shape Skoda Superb 1.9 TDi with 60k on the clock...

I'm used to 23 being a high score.

Not too bad, I fear you were still a bit too giddy with the "gas pedal" though. :D

Finally left New Zealand! After about 20 hours on the plane we made it to Dubai where I'm spending the next few days before arriving back in Blighty. Slightly late but a big thanks to Stuno for putting us up for the night on our way down!

Away from home today, I was going down a country lane and saw a very tidy gold F reg Rover 213 drive past! The strange thing is, shortly after, I was thinking wouldn't it be mad if a Marina just happened to drive past. Literally five minutes later, a dark colour K reg Marina (with the early grille) drives past with some young girl driving it! How strange!!
