I remember being at an airshow at Middle Wallop (yonks ago) and there was a demo by a Vulcan Bomber, and when it went into afterburner mode directly above us, the earth positively shook!

Although I was there for the helicopters, that Vulcan was utterly amazing.

It's been a lovely weekend with top people, so yeah, that's making me grin alright!

^ This - mine is the TZD snuggled up between the Tiger and the GT. And yes, that is a fabulous shot which I am totally stealing as it came out so much better than mine of the same view ;P

Thanks to Catsinthewelder for being a super host and Mrs Cats for equally super catering and to Dollywobbler for checking I'd done everything up right (I had, nearly - only a half-turn or so to stop the leaks)

However, this is possibly why girls mostly don't do mechanics:

To check the handbrake cable, it would REALLY HELP if I could get the fucking wheelnuts off (I shall be Having A Word about 65 lb/ft torque with my garage when the car goes in for MOT in a couple of weeks!)

Think it looks better shortened.

Nigel Mansell may not agree...

We went to a MEGA SHITE market in a MEGA SHITE bit of Wales (North) today and came across our dog's little sister!

Nice (how did you know though?) - Where in Wales was it? (so I can avoid the place, I only want to see nice bits)

Unrelated, but this made me grin:

Towyn I think, wherever it was it was somewhere near Rhyl. We got talking to the owner of a similar breed dog as our's, missus mentioned how old he is and where we got him from (somewhere near Conway I think) and it transpired they'd got their's from the same bloke a couple of days after we gout our's.

That caravan looks like it should also be a boat, I hope that it is.

Bought my pug from Bristol area. Found out her sister is three miles up the road from me (200+ miles from place of birth)! Were offered both for 'buy one get another one half price' as there were only two in the litter, but only took one (lack of funds).

Fixed, cheers matey.

Looks like you had a rare old time though and hats off to you for organising it.

Just looked at the satellite image, looks like Towyn's 80% static caravans and a dogtrack... we'll keep driving till we reach Llandudno then!

Those dog stories are odd - as in, what are the odds.

I would to be honest, anything this side of Conway seems to be (mostly) a bit of a shit tip along the coast to be blunt.

Seems pretty accurate. I once went to Rhyl. I have never wished to return.

Aye.

Mid Wales is far nicer, Tywyn and Machynlleth for example.

^^ Those must exist for pretty much every town in the UK now. A friend has just posted one up with the Jaywick replaced by Essex, which is topical and amusing.

have been saved from buying a ropey but late XM by it selling to someone else.

Ah, it went then? Perhaps the mystery buyer wasn't fictitional at all!

This whole Lion on the loose thing is quite amusing, i bet it turns out to be a hoax or some locals having a laugh.

I like the way they called a fuck off mobile phone mast the "Rhyl Sky Tower".:lol:

They should've called it the "We-won't-get-planning-permission-for-our-mast-unless-we-come-up-with-a-tourist-angle Tower"

Dog Stories:

Not quite the same, but when I went to collect Gruff from the breeder in St Helens she asked for my postcode (for the reg papers or something) and then said "thats the same as his brother Bill's new owners I'm sure". It wasn't the same but very close. So out of the litter one went to Sweden, one up north somewhere and two ended up in neighbouring villages in (the nicest part) of North Wales. It turned out that we'd met Bill's owners at a couple of parties held at our old neighbours house too! The world is very small sometimes!

The North welsh coast east of Conwy is not completely without merit:

An impromptu letter I sent in to CAR appears to have been elected Letter Of The Month.

In theory I win a free warranty. Looking forward to trying to apply it to an R-reg Rover....

Congrats, Roadwork, be interesting to see how your prize pans out.

Today, I discovered where one of the burglar type people lives.
