What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Found a place that not only has internet, but it works. Money issues are sorted for the time being so I can continue my roadtrip. Also finally got the insurance and frankly illegal tyres sorted as well. Current aim is to drive as far north as I possibly can. On the way back down you can drive Ninety Mile Beach, which is actually an official part of the road network. Thing is, am I brave enough?

Nice one NC. You're living the dream. Ditch the van and "walk da earth".

I'm now starting to think the Vanette would get me there. Terrible start but it's taken me from the alps to the sub tropic region and not missed a beat. Traffic jams, snow, torrential rain, motorways - nothing seems to stop it!

Found an old receipt from when I was a very young lad. I can remember what I did after this as well (apart from chundering)! Diamong White FTW. I think I used to make shandies with this stuff, as even then it was pretty harsh stuff. I like finding pointless, sentimental things like this!

Just back from the excellent 2CVGB National, which really cheered me up. Was feeling a bit run down but came away with a huge smile on my face. Quechua tent wresting and table wrestling (where you have to go under the table and back on top without touching the floor) added a huge slab of enjoyment to the weekend, and there were some top quality motors too.

But I have to ask - who Livin' The Autoshite Dream on the A34 this afternoon? Red Maestro towing a red and yellow Marina!! I found this almost as oof-worthy as the V6 engined DS convertible towing an airstream caravan!

My happiness continues! Micra was collected this morning, it drives really nice, the engine and box are sweet as! It is now sporting a bit more of a nose down stance as i've raped its front suspension, which in turn has made the Pao 100% better to drive.

GR8 stuff. I've now just got to ponder whether to lob the 1200 and 5 speed in the Pao, or sell them both as they are....

Stopping my sister's brick driveway disappearing down the partially collapsed storm drain. :D WIN!

Although I am now filthy, I am grinning.

I spend over 5 mintues this afternoon whilst at a show watching 5 people inculding the owner trying to find the bonnet pull on his 2007 Mercedes E-Class, Once they did find it he goes "I've had this since new and never knew it was there!":roll:

I once watched a woman and two 'likely lads' try to get a wheel off a Golf for nearly an hour, and they had resorted to crowbars and feet by that point.

I googled.

The flower shop is no20 and no18 is a vacant building according to street view.

Unless Barnetts was on the corner?

Yeah, it's the now closed Thresher/Drinks Cabin thing that closed down a couple of year's ago! Lol! I was served by my brother's mate's mum! What a memory I have!

Incidentally, there is a lamp post up the road in St Andrew's Church which gave C S Lewis inspiration for Chronicles of Narnia.

Just drove past a local garage and spotted the snout of an early Chrysler Alpine! Went back for a gander. Turns out it's been left OUTSIDE on some bloke's drive for 13 years! A couple of the lads in the garage have put it through an MoT - it's still filthy dirty but apart from a somewhat bubbly front wing, seems in very good condition!

I think they're likely to clean it up and sell it so I left my number. Tricky one to value though - rare French stuff is usually worth peanuts. I did take a pic on my camera - the only downside being that I've no idea where my phone-to-PC cable is...
