My MK1 VTR had that pattern on the seats. Looks like a sofa from 1988 which is fine now I spose but I was well pissed off with it in my 4 year old hot hatch!

Yup, which funnily enough after 17 years of young chavs owning them makes them hard to find though thankfully cheap still when you do. Give it a few years though....

There won't be any axles left in a few years, just a load of 106/Saxos on peoples drives on axle stands with the owner "waiting for one to come up" which never will.

Shame really cos they're brilliant.

They are properly sillyfun cars the Saxo/106 even in povvo spec.  Probably the most fun per cc I've had in a car.

Spent the morning finishing up the repairs to the WinterBore...

Costs so far;

CatD 150k 1.6 PickledArsehole £100

Starter motor £found in the garage

Alternator repair £45 from a local man in a shed

Cambelt kit £35

I've over spent on it, haven't I? Bugger.

Not a single advisory last year, so shouldn't be too bad this year.

Tiny Kia was raised skyward on two of the four lifts we use for working under coaches...

... arses. Tame mechanic welding it tomorrow morning then putting it down for test.

From a ZAZ owner?

Possibly, though this has been commissioned for a ZAZ owner but not by the ZAZ's owner.  That's a very complicated way of saying the customer is setting up a lovely surprise gift and taking sneaky pictures for reference which is making my job a smidge more difficult.  Thank goodness for Google images!

I've a couple of Zaz 968 here ( early and late) if you want me to take a bunch of pics

After a long wait getting her licence back from doovla, Mrs foad has passed her theory test and is now being let out on the roads to do her bus training with stagecoach. She seems to be enjoying it and getting the hang of driving a bus, she will likely be doing her test in a week or two.

Took the Bentley to have its tracking done at AMS who were recommended - full Hunter 4 wheel alignment and all that guff. A more surly rude bunch of arses I have yet to meet!

Fortunately, I had the dogs with me (as always) and little fat Chester surreptitiously pee'd on their stacks of new tyres. In the showroom. I did not tell him off!

I'm surprised the Bentley specialist didn't have the kit to do that , or at least sub it out to someone for you .

Surly and rude to a Bentley owner- don't they know their place? They should be doffing caps and tugging forlocks.

If they were surly and rude before they'd done anything I'd have left.

I should have but unfortunately, tyre places round here are populated with mouth breathing twats! So not much point in going anywhere else. Incidentally, I'm not the sort to have 'airs and graces'  and I've worked in garages so quite used to them. It just seems that tyre places in Torquay are staffed by arseholes and some git in a fucking Bentley was not gonna get a good service! The fact I'm sat there in ripped jeans and tatty trainers with a couple of down at heel mutts cut no sway!

That's the problem- train the dogs to bite the tradesmen!

Did they actually do a proper job though? The tradesmen, not the dogs.

The chap in charge of the bridge was on the radio earlier

It has split by the welds on one section. They are going to weld patches on it 'for now' ☺

Forgot to mention that while I was Volvo-road-tripping to M25-ish parts last weekend, Mrs DW had taken the Nippa for its first long run since joining the fleet in March - Leicestershire and back, about 370 miles. Naturally, it wasn't much of a struggle and it delivered 55mpg! It doesn't seem to be leaking any more water in, but I may have to give in and have the windscreen seal replaced at some point. It's a proper old-school seal, not bonded in by the look of it.

The trip has pushed the Nippa to a staggeringly high 26,000 miles now.
