Handshake shook today on me new job. Will be an MOT tester again very soon. I'm off to excersize my prodding finger, and brush up on my tut's.

Congrats! Suggestion: when testing older cars, wear a bullet belt filled with yellow chalks.

edit: bugger, twosmoke300 got there first

^ love the rad Conrad! Do you have a car in mind it's destined for?

Sorry, missed this! No, I wanted to put it in the Sprite but a) it's too long to go in the centre and B) It would be a bit of a waste.

Mr Claypole, is that some sort of laser etching device?  It's clearly making something of great interest, whatever it is.

Located replacement inner rear wings for the SAAB - located in the USA though, think the shipping might be equal to purchase cost though...

However I'm thinking the overall cost might be similar and give better / lasting results than having a tame welder re-fabricate the wings out of tiny slithers of metal.

Other half drove off up the road in it with a flat tyre this AM, so they dump it outside a neighbours house, walk back, drive off in the other car.  I'll sort that then! (TBF, quite happy as it's more fun to drive than the modern).

Doesn't sound too catastrophic Mo Selecta

No, its not catastrophic, but I know MA_STERLING can be very picky, she has already picked up the gear stick still juddering in 3rd now. Mind at least its quieter exhaust-wise and the wipers actually work.

Having fixxorated the water leak into the boot of the Brummie, my YSB Jaguar is doing the same fucking thing. Water in the lamp cluster seems to be running down the seam inside the boot, over the bulb holder and into the lamp. And the boot seal is fine. I hate water leaks, God alone knows where this lot is coming from. I have doused the inner rear quarterpanel with talc in an effort to see where the water runs from.

Been a bad car week. My Peugeot 307 got hit by a bus on Tuesday resulting in bumper, wing and headlight damage. Only had the cambelt done in November.

What with the damage done likely labour and parts and the car being over 10 years old, in my head the car is a gonna. Its a shame after having the car for 5 years it really has been the most reliable car I've owned.

Luckily the kids and I were not in the car.

Trying to convince the other half if we buy a cheap, shit car we can review money options.

He better not have the Director of Beige Velour job, I'd been told I was a shoe in for that position.

I had to google her I really did.

How sad is my life that women seem to have halted with Anneka Rice.

Vertical learning curve at the minute but I've no jobs or anything to do with it so taking it a bit at a time.

Waiting for some cast acrylic to arrive so I can try that.

My neighbour has an S-Type in exactly the same colour. That also has a boot leak. He lost his rag with the main dealer when they said "yeah, it's an issue. We're aware of it." But they didn't know what to do about it. "You being aware of it doesn't fix it!" If by chance you do find the culprit, do let me know!

Fucking fuckety fuckety fuck.

Exhuasts blowing on the SEAT. Needs a cat. Bollocks. Can't get a pattern one. Bollocks again. Can only get a genuine one. Dealer wants £735+ VAT. Ho Ho Ho.

Looks like a second hand cat might be the answer. WCPGW?

It's the only way forward really. I bought the Micra a whole second-hand system, downpipe, cat and back box, all still attached together for £25. It got fitted and now it sounds a load quieter than it did with the rubbish pattern part. I'd have liked to do this with the Sterling but it's impossible to find a second hand whole system.

Right, if your Toledo is the 1.8 20v (which I think it is) with the engine code of AGN then fuel parts make a cat for it, part number PAS42509.

I think it's the same as the Leon and Audi A3 too, Google the part number and there's one on Amazon for sale.

What the actual feck - bloody yellow lampo' doom has lit up on the Micrashed.

The service light has popped up on the V40 tonight. Given that it is currently running a total loss oil system of 1 litre every 4000 miles, then I am not hurrying to do a total drain and change yet.

Its the 1.8 20v Turbo so engine code of AUQ. Tried a few factors but nobody has / can get one. Found a decent looking second hand one so I think thats the way.

Otherwise it was looking like it would end up p/x'ed against something newish and dull which is not a good thing at all.

My rally kei car is provisionally sold, collection & payment should be next weekend. This will bring me back in to single figures of cars owned.

What are old Mini's worth?, My sister has a customer who's bought this in for a MOT this morning who's thinking of selling her's, it's a 1999 1.3i Cooper with full leather and only 19000 miles, 2 owners from new, the lady thinks it's worthless, has a few scabs but it CAP's at £3000, I've offered £1500... I'm not holding my breath.

I'd want to check it VERY carefully for rot. These late ones are the worst of the lot in that regard. The 'sports pack' means it's slower than a standard Cooper, with a poorer ride and utterly shite turning circle too. Prices seem all over the place as well. Not sure it's the most desirable colour.
