Thats sad tiffx :(

If he wanted you have it then take it and enjoy it I guess this is why he wanted you to have. Maybe plan a trip somewhere nice in it for a few days and take your sister.

I have a plan forming in my head here. Thanks to mr bollocks for the seed.Help for heroes was very close to his heart. I have my mgf which I will have no where for it to live. Autoshite is my sane place where everyone else is as odd as me so here goes.

Take my mgf and enjoy a fine little British sports car. Donate £100 to help for heroes and post the proof up here. Look after it for as long as you want to and when the time comes to move it on, carry on the same deal within this community. If at any time it becomes uneconomical to repair then send it over the bridge and donate the proceeds to the same charity.

The mg has a long mot till about August next year, but you'll have to tax it, and get a refund if you move it on.you may have read it recently took my wife and I all the way from Scotland to Frankfurt and back trouble free, has had the head gasket and a couple of valves replaced by me, and is the quietest k series I've ever heard. Lots of parts replaced to make it every day useable and a very nice drive. Nice sony stereo too with I pod connector in the glovebox which stays in the car....

Cracking heater, totally waterproof, uses NO water, 45 mpg,and was fully serviced before the trip, including a coolant change. Waxoiled and shutzed underneath when I got it only thing I had in the pipeline to do was replace the discs and pads all round at some point. I have new front pads to go on.

Let's see how many names we can get on the logbook.

Condolences Tiff. That is a good idea. Maybe start a new thread and interested parties put their location down and we can plan a route round the UK for maximum funding? As its for charity maybe each person should keep it until the log book arrives or for 1 month etc? Just a suggestion?

Sorry for your loss fella. Sour times.

Great and inspirational idea though. What a great way to bring something positive from such a negative situation.

As all have said Tiff, sorry for your loss.

I think that's a splendid idea for the MG. I don't need another car, but would happily chip in and have ownership of it for a short while for charitee.

What a head-messer. Certainly feel for you. Not easy at all, but I like your MGF idea very much. That's a great idea.

Fantastic idea.

Unlikely to have space/time for the car - but happy to donate meself and my transporter if it ever needs moving from Shiter to Shiter.

Sincere condolences on your loss Tiff.

Difficult to know what to say but as far as the car goes, they obviously want you to have it so have it, it wouldn't be right not to. Maybe just park it up for a while until things settle and get back to some sort of normal, but ultimately just enjoy the car as that was what your brother in law was wanting to do with it.

Also, MGF idea sounds brilliant! So long as I can bung it on a classic policy then it is welcome here for a month.

Sincere condolences Tiff. :(  The MGF idea sounds like a plan.

I bought a set of dolly's you stick under the wheels of cars for moving them around in a garage the other day for 40 quid and got them today.

Why did I not buy these 2 years ago  ? I can push the car right into the corner when I'm not working it then push it into the best position for what I'm doing when I am.

Give your advertising to a group of Secondary School kids and give them the same budget that the supply R.E. teacher has for the rainy day when she has to buy all the colouring in mcgubbinz for class and tell them to advertise a car.

It really doesn't matter how good or bad the MG is, with adverts like this nobody in their right mind will want to buy one.  Quite a few people in their wrong mind won't want to either.

Shit Tiff, that's a real shocker. All I can suggest regarding the Volvo is leave it a week or two and see how you feel about it.

They have been better with Papa Lazarou. "HALLO DAVE... IS THAT DAVE... YOU'RE MY WIFE NOW... "

Filmed I believe in the 'elephant house' building at Longbridge... adding more weight to the 50p budget assumption!

I feel a bit sorry for MG they've obviously got no marketing budget (although strangely still seem to fund a touring car team).

You feel that will a little bit more effort they could come up with something that works rather than trudging out the same old dirge.

Got carried away reading some detailing sites last night after a few beers watching the England match, deciding that my car will shine like very shiny thing on a sunny day I managed to spunk £150 on detailing products on amazon.

....

I've washed a car once in 10 years using a cheapo tub of halfords wash n wax, I can see these living in the cupboard under the sink until I throw them away in 10 years time.

After selling the acadiane that I brought back from france on sunday an evil plan hatched. As I made enough to cover the transport I thought I would shop around for quotes to bring another car over. Now I have just paid for this

In other news, after some weeks of searching for parcel shelf retaining clips for the Scirocco.

Hens teeth/unobtainium/first things asked for on a breaker on the Scirocco forum, I got out my book of the Allegro and effected a perfectly serviceable repair using a self tapping screw.

Well, nobody wanted it so it got the chop.

Take the plates off it and dump it like that outside your local halfords overnight.

If you cut the back at an angle it would make quite a cool garden ornament.
