I remember in 2000 my dad had red sierra 1.6L G607WFB and I was out and about local and saw an exact red 1.6L sierra G608WFB saw it quite a bit after that, they were registered in bristol iirc

That reminds me. Ma used to have G886KAW, a Mk3 Fiesta in Red. Back when it was newish and worth something, we had G887KAW (or G885KAW) another Mk3 Fiesta in Blue as a courtesy car for a couple of weeks.

I have lots of cars, but have only driven 24 miles this week. So, I went for a drive.

Lexus had been sitting for eight wet days, so the brakes were a bit noisy to start with. It's clocked up 50 miles in a fortnight. The nature of my work means cars can sit for weeks, then suddenly cover hundreds of miles in a few days, then be parked up again - and this is while I've only actually got two of mine on the road!

Which reminds me. 2CV event later in the month, so I should head back down to the workshop and start trying to improve the handbrake. I need to get the thing an MOT.

There was a firm ban issued by the wife on me buying any more cars after the saab turned up. Apparently the company car, the xj8 and the saab 9-5 is more than enough to be going on with.

I will spend this coming week trying a figure a plausable excuse/lie as to why another vehicle will be joining the fold.

Collecshun thread to come but in the meantime i'll leave this here.

It's a boy!

Austin Michael Raymond Harris was born at 2352 last night and home by 0400 this morning.

He's bloody ace, as was MrsH during the entire process and the entire staff of the Birthing Centre at Treliske hospital.ab7d4fd605eadbfec678c4adadf844b1.jpgfcbe2edfd987f4180b0dfb5f0cce4c12.jpg

Yes, welcome to the Rover 800 moaners club. May your ownership be less painful and expensive than mine.

That dash lift says ROVER 800

Your not wrong. The gap ia soo big you can put your whole hand in there.

One more pic before collection and new thread.

Nice!

This past week of Rover ownership has made me pencil in one of these as the next crusier when the 200 inevitably fails it's next MOT. Or a plush 600. Dunno.

Just realized that Wobbler's Nippa is Maidstone registered, are the dealer stickers intact?

Maybe from here?

Is that Eddys Rover??

I've got it off a deceased estate. Family bought it for the old boy from somewhere up north back in january last year but he passed away in may and has been pretty much unused since then.

Ha ha, you're one of us now.

A whole new world of pain awaits you, but you won't care because the intoxicating blend of wood, chrome and leather makes you believe it is worth it.

Welcome to Rover ownership.

Congratulations by the way Fatharris.

Keep finding pictures of basey 90s Holdens and I shan't lie, a wagon like this has STRONG appeal.

Managed to get my ancient Pure Highway DAB car adaptor working after a long period of being in my box of discarded tech, due to it deciding not to pick up any stations one day; it simply needed a factory reset:

Should go well in the waggins, especially as it has a mag-mount aerial :)

further mini tinkering..... and another fruitless day at the unit.

finally got both front hubs are finally off, we are going to fit new ball joints and bearings, but i think Goliath or Geoff Capes fitted the old ones.

with the ball joint splitter on it, the ball joints did not want to come apart, but some how we managed it. we have found that the outer cv boots are shot, and the track control arms are less than clever. great......

the previous owner had bought the car a moulded carpet set. i've trial fitted it, and while the colour is nice, it don't come anywhere near fitting properly cos its intended for an MPI,

so the carpet has a cut out for the fuse box next the the drivers door, cut out for the seatbelts in the wrong places and a mouded lump for the airbag ECU that my '74 doesn't have. so new carpet needs to be added to the list of stuff needed. along with drive shaft boots and new track contol arms, and i've no idea how on earth we are going to change those....

fuck.

you know those ideas you have that which seemd to be a good idea at the time, but infact are not?

yeap, buying that friggin' mini was one of those......

Had a succesful day yesterday selling stuff. I sold a mobylette that I brought back from France for a nice little profit then sold my lads MG Midget. It had sat around for 6 months when his insurance ran out. I have also got rid of the big heap of spares I had for the Midget and hopefully the bloke who bought my 204 is coming back today to collect all the spares that went with it. It will be nice to have some space in the workshop again. I must try not to fill it up with more crap though.

Registered 500 miles away in Maidstone 18 years ago so quite long odds, I would say.

GA on the old registration system was Glasgow.

I've driven past John Childs Perodua dealership, which is out in the Kent countryside not a million miles from Ashford. It's a fantastic looking old place, with lots of signage and lots of knackered Peroduas out back (and decent ones in the showroom). I reckon he would be a good source of hard-to-find parts.

Not sure if I have or not, it's vaguely familiar, I'm sure me or other Kent shiter's would happily have a nose for our Perodua fans!

I did enquire about service parts when I first got the Nippa, but they seemed to be about twice the price of Ebay, so that was the end of that. Hard to justify splashing out on expensive bits for a £300 car.
