You will be lucky because then it will be worth upto £11 grand apparently.

Apparently not then :(

Anyone fancy taking this on as a project ?

Inadequate repair - sounds even worse than excessively corroded.

The sill was knackered so I thought I'd try my hand at welding (never done it before) but it seems that I need a bit more practice and some better kit :(

^Sounds like you spotted it on, so the welding itself could be sound, it's just the type of joint that they are raising issue with.

I was joking last night with Todd, my redneck friend, that the Princess was haunted and that today if I put the key in the ignition it would just start without me doing anything.  As a result, I now know for certain that the Princess is indeed haunted for it started without a hint of bother without me changing anything.

Cheers Obama Junkman.

Strong veg mix fine in England, not so good north of Perth. At least it got me to placenames I recognise.

I clicked "like" out of sympathy, not because I like it being broken.

A new fuel filter and some diesel should see it right, hopefully?

Look up towards the large empty space just under the roof  :?

Damn beaten to it...... Drill holes in the roof joists and buy several sets of ratchet straps to hold them up out the way...

It's not that high, but it gives me an idea to build shelves big enough to slot a door or six into where I don't need the height.

Because:

Renault twingo.

Or ... Rear engined, it's like a 911 innit?

I've just dropped over 250quid on a diagnostic tool, for the primary task of being able to reset the gearbox computer adaptations. This Saab is getting rather expensive...

I've managed to fix something! Sort of...

The bootlid of the Jag has been jammed shut all week, neither the internal release button or key worked, so I followed what the internet told me and drilled a hole in the bootlid at a specific point in order to pop the catch. I was expecting it to be a major faff jabbing the screwdriver in blindly, but it worked first time.

The right-hand screw of the number plate is mega rusty and just wouldn't come out, so that bit of the job was cack handed and I'll probably need a new plate as it's badly cracked now.

I removed the lock barrel and am soaking it overnight in WD40 as it's partly seized. Unless it's a fuse or something I can't be arsed working out why the internal boot release isn't working, I'd rather have the lock and key working properly.

It wasn't a big job but I started doing it at 8 and was all packed up by 10. How the likes of Bo11ox do massive mid-week welding sessions in the evening is beyond me!

From the author who put the 'cunt' in Atonement, a new big-screen offering based around an unfortunate bedroom incident.

'On Chesil Beach' the plot centres around a wedding-night custard spillage so copious that the bride resorts to cleaning herself up with the pillow whilst berating the hapless groom for his trigger-happy performance. Perfect romance to take the good lady wife to see.

Pretty much, but the brake servo failed on the way down as well, next big breakdown it'll be bean tins I think. Evanton to Kent via Yorkshire and almost back, it did quite well.

Having spent £125.00 on parts at the Mercedes main dealer, I am downloading MIG welding vids from youtube so I can learn to weld. Wish me luck.

That's where Renault used to put them, just not transversely. I'm surprised that got signed off for production! Could be because not having the donkey up front made it easier to get the desired NCAP rating?

The new Twingo is related to the Smart I believe. There's a RenaultSport version too!

Speaking of new cars, it seems Merc are gearing up to sell badge-engineered Nissan Navaras.

I can only imagine the standard of driving - and you'll probably be hard pressed to spot one that's not white.

With all the current Rover 75 love on here I thought I would share this example. It was towed in recently after a rather too close shave with a telegraph pole. Amazingly the driver got out ok with just scratches, it was a T reg V6 but that's about all I know.

It'll interesting to see if they have any weird handling characteristics although it looks like the engine is sitting right over the back wheels. Those v6 Clio's are supposed to be interesting* in the wet.

All renaults are interesting* in the wet, you have the endless excitement of waiting to find out where it'll FTP on this trip.

Well, the MG ZT has passed the MOT with a bit of welding to the rear suspension mounts. Woo Hoo!. As a reward it has now been fitted with four new tyres (Hankook ventus v12 evo2 at £70 each). The original tyres being only just legal and different brands front and rear. A set of NOS MG floor mats has complemented the interior nicely.

My home made exhaust system (stainless steel tubing with glass pack straight through "silencers") sounds lovely, if slightly loud, but in a good way, not obnoxious! The local friendly garage guy that took it for the re test went the long way round there and back "just to hear a v6 sounding as a v6 should sound" (his words).

Result!

I love unpicking the which car conglomerate is collaborating with whom thing, trying to work out who has the most (I think it might be Fiat who have GM, Chrysler, Mazda, Mitsubishi and maybe Suzuki (which may have been a thru-GM thing, but then again I only heard that there was VW shares in there too relatively recently) if the Sedici is still being made, plus they just binned off the Sevel arrangement I think.

I have a friend who works at the Merc F1 team. He's onto his second A-Class (due to extremely favourable terms), and when he pointed out it was the diesel I asked him if he knew it was Renault powered. He said he did in a downbeat tone. I wished him luck...
