Black 5, a LNER thingy (sorry I don't do rails), a narrow gauge Hunslet then a Garrett portable and a selection of stationary steam engines. Had worse days in "the office" !

Jealous, me? yes, very.

 a Garrett portable

As a train nerd that did confuse me,  to me this is a Garrett

that's a Beyer Garratt

The Garratt will be a portable steam engine - ie one that can't move under its own power but is on wheels.

I'm in South France now, been here since Sunday evening and been working since. No internet of my own yet just borrowing some seriously weak WiFi. There is lots of chod here, particularly French chod and certainly a fair more older vehicles on the roads than in England.

Not had the chance to take many pics of chod in the French wild and you may have to wait for a few months until I go to Belgium when my contract ends before I'll be able to upload pics as the internet at FATHA_Sterling will be much better. The internet is shit here and I don't have a PC apart from my tablet.

Anyway, until I get some of my own internet, hopefully by weekend. See you l8torz.

Was in the local garage today, getting an MOT on the Mazda.

There was an interesting restoration beginning.

10pts for anyone that recounts its name.

The Rover has passed its MOT! Tobacco remains legal until next March. Couple of minor advisories and an informal warning about crispy spots on the floor from water getting into the cabin, but I think I fixed the leak yesterday (big holes in the A pillar under the trim) so a tiny bit of welding will hopefully be the end of that and I can get some carpet in there.

That Escort's wonderful, and that penultimate shot is calendar as hell.

I bet Neil was well impressed with it.

I like masts, so I went to the top of Holme Moss to look at the mast, had I gone on for several hundred feet I would have been in Derbyshire but I couldn't be bothered with all that.

Emley Moor mast would have made a grand backdrop for a shot of the lovely sparkling Escort.

Really not easy to get it all in one picture though without resorting to lying on the ground, camera pointed skywards.

Or being several miles away.

I had it stuck in my head the MoT on the beige Princess wasn't due until October.  Really glad I checked because it expires on the 11th of April.  I reckon I'll put it in for an early test in March while I know it's all good rather than leaving it until the last minute.

I may have stumbled across a stash of tat which has been hidden for years... some Italian stuff, some 2 wheeled stuff and some agricultural stuff. Hoping to go and have a look soon, but I'm skint and have no storage, so will keep y'all posted. A  Very Low Mileage Gamma has been mentioned.

^^^ All Gammas are low mileage because they broke or dissolved so young.

Still like them though>

The replacement alternator I got for the spyder doesn't fit. I gave them my reg number before buying it so they could check it would fit and was assured it was the correct one. I have now ordered a replacement regulator instead, lets hope that fits. I am on the hunt for a new speedo cable for the spyder as well, betaboyz do stock one, but I think it's the wrong one, I've asked anyway.

The boring has an occasional loss of power, codes have been read (17965 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation) in English this means it's overboosting, this could be caused by a few things. 5 mins internet research make me think sticking vanes in the turbo could be the problem. After 218k miles it could be that the turbo is clogged with soot and needs cleaning out ... I may try some magic snake oil cure before removing the turbo as the turbo is at the back of the engine near the bulkhead, so a bit of a pain to get at.

Paid my insurance renewal, only £208 now as gone from four to two cars.  Yet another benefit of driving old shitters.  Next thing is to tax the miniMetro on Saturday and try to flog it, which may take some time as I want decent money for this one.  Then I'll be down to just one motor for the first time in seven years

Well one less motor on the fleet here as well. The big old R2087 is off to a new home tomorrow. I just need to make sure I spend the cash paying off my credit card bill before I get another bright idea of going to france to buy shite.

Both my seatbelt buckle holders were broken so I had a fish around my boxes of assorted crap and found some old mirror mounting hooks. They screwed into the original holes using the original screws and are 100% perfect size. Literally completely perfect. Just a little thing but very satisfying!

And yes, I'll clean the pillar later.

I delivered some stuff to graypaul Ferrari today in Nottingham and they have some ace stuff in, but I know you chod botherers wouldn't be interested in all that and the only photo I took was of this z1 anyway.

Look ma no doors!!

A picture by Hirst...

I like this picture Hirst. It's got that early 90s "Crimewatch" 'found car at/near murder location picture' look about it, particularly with the 'blanked out' plate.

Mrs Triggers put her foot down today and has decided that she now wants a K11 Nissan Micra like she used to have as "It's the best car she's ever had", Now I do like the Micra but it's really not what I'm looking for, I was hoping to get something a bit more interesting to bring to Shitefestâ„¢ and that's also going to be comfortable on such a long drive.

This also means the Acclaim will definitely have to go up for sale now too.

Look on the bright side,  she's not demanding a Bini or a Nissan Juke and puts up with you owning four cars and driving the only modern one yourself.

You've got it easy man.

I am pretty lucky in that respect, although she ideally wants a Fiat 500 or Nissan Figaroll, I've put my foot down on that one!
