Bob/wobbler just trying to do some matchmaking, you're both coming to the same part of North Kent within 24 hours of each other, liftshare?

Honda booked in for a fettling session at possibly the UK's only S-MX specialist. On Monday. In Sheerness. Down that way with work, so it almost makes sense! Chap is going to replace the rear suspension bushes and do a gearbox flush. Let's see if that cures the revvy change issue. The other week, I put my foot down to overtake someone and it just hit the rev limiter! Driven with care, it's fine, but you do have to drive around the issue - the key is to manually do a kickdown, and give it time to get that gear nice and selected before you boot it.

Ah you're going to 'the island' the bridge is good fun. Loads of chod out there, keep 'em peeled. Locals known as swampy's!

That's a fair point. Where are you located Bob? I'm heading to North Kent on Sunday and stopping over.

Umm, I'm tempted to say Sittingbourne meet on Sunday afternoon for Kentish shitters with visiting s-mx? If I'm allowed out to play...

Could be a plan. I've not been anywhere near a Mk1 Mondeo for a long time! No idea of arrival time yet, but I know I can't get to my AirBnB until 7pm. Knowledge of local food options could be handy!

So I got to the bridge just as it happened, according to the time on that report.

Fucking mouth-breather. It's not as if there were massive light-up signs every few hundred yards, running for several miles either side of the bridge, that said FORTH ROAD BRIDGE CLOSED TO HIGH SIDED VEHICLES. CAUTION HIGH WINDS. etc. etc.

I'll risk starting a thread, see how it goes. I'm not than gen'd up on Sittingbourne food options, eating out is more of a Faversham/Canterbury thing for us...

Spotted earlier, number plate obfuscated as spoke to the owner. He has owned it since new when he paid £11k for it from the showroom in 1988, 1.4 GL. Immaculate condition, no rust. Was going to say if you ever sell....but he said he's taking it with him when he goes!

Not everything is rosy in the P4 garden, but I was reminded of the niceties of some of Rover's design when I adjusted a front wheel bearing this morning.

Yes I now have a C15 with a cake tin on top. Sorry no collection thread, it was just a quick trip up to Swindon on the train and a much slower trip back. Ok I did stop for fuel but forgot to take a picture, haute cuisine was consumed at Leigh Delamere

I did not stop for long as the seat fabric gave me a headache

In other news, my 2CV met a rather interesting friend today.

First day with proper sunshine and I have managed a short trip out in the MX5 just because I wanted too.

Oh it was sunny for my drive too. I didn't need to go and milk really, but needed an excuse for a quick, sunny hoon.

I have no defence, a convertible on the drive. My todo list and the rest of the world can wait.

23 months ago, I stopped here for a picture. It inspired Vulgalour to do a lovely painting of this moment.

I failed to match the angle today, and it was also a lot sunnier! But much less rusty...

Took delivery of this today (well my garage did). It was on Retrorides and I paid £50 for it. Someone made a comment about needing a dustpan, having crawled around underneath it it doesn't look bad at all, but we will see!

A few years ago I wouldn't have bothered going to the trouble of trying to "save" a mark 3 Fiesta from the likely hood of going to the scrapyard!

Liking that Pete. Really want to have a drive and then take a polishing mop to it.

I might have some Ford wheel trims for this.

I've got some T-cut here laying around doing nowt...

I shall take you up on that, you are very welcome to have a drive of it. I would be happy to purchase some wheel trims off you.

I may need a drivers door too as it there is a large gap at the top as though someone has pulled the top of the door to get in!

Nope - Mk2 and 3 Fiestas and mk4 Escorts could come with cream coloured wheeltrims. There've been two mk2 Fiesta 1.1Ls in my family that had them.

Suddenly thought I have not heard anything about the Mazda since I dropped it off on Friday lunchtime. Wasn't really expecting anyting as it wasn't booked in to be worked on until yesterday (Tuesday) so not really worried. However, I thought I'd check to see if they have MOTd it yet and what it failed on...

Passed on Friday! The only bit I was worried about (rust on the o/s cill right at the back where it's had a new wheelarch, the new bit has gone crusty but the bit underneath is fine!) got an advisory. May have to ring them tomorrow and see how everything else is going!

Also see it has done 460 miles in my year and a bit of ownership! I am appalled!

That doesn't look too bad at all tbh.

When I saw the wires hanging out of the column cowling, my first thought was "I bet the drivers door's been bent back to gain access". Typical joyrider damage. Is the steering lock broken too, or did they not manage to get that far?

I don't want to cast aspersions on your new mates memory, but if he paid £11,000 for it, he was robbed.

I would have thought more like list of £8.5/9 , I'm sure £11k would have bought an RS Turbo!
