They do, but that's throwing me at trade accounts and America, which is more expensive in most cases.  I'll see if the local fixings place does them, he was shut half-day today so I couldn't get the bolts I wanted.  See if I can find a truck/engineering place too, someone must have one kicking around.

Try a builders/plumber's merchant - 1/2" gas pipe is still a thing.

My brother tried to Expertly* paint under his bonnet. Dad told him "not even coco the fucking clown would do that to his car!"

Before that he phoned me at work in a blind panic - "I unbolted something off my car to paint it and the engine near fell out!".....can you tell what else he painted?

I managed to explain to him over the phone how to get a trolley jack in a decent spot to raise it back up. Hopefully he's got away with it.....

Yeap I was going to France after a pre war Renault but my other half saw one of these and next thing I know I am buying Boxster. It's the S with a 3.2 so quite lively. I do need to remove the 'box and sort the clutch and oil seal. It also needs the intermediate shaft bearing mod. The tools for which I have just bought.

Also hydraulic type places - Pirtek or similar.

Wifes Fiesta mk6 had a minor FTP today AutoAid to the rescue and a fine job the contractor did too. Out in 45 minutes car recovered home in about an hour and a half. Fault found to be spark plug recess area was full of moisture. Apparently its a thing on these fezzers where rain water leaks through the window washer jet outlets on the bonnet. So I dried it out with a sponge, siliconed the washer jets up and have new plugs and leads on order. The water that came out of the sponge was clear and odourless.

Mx5 passed MOT last Friday with No advisories.  I had to tie-wrap the fog lamp in place as the rust ate the bracket, and they didn't notice the movement in the front headlight or the lack of lamp height motor positioning. (Must look at it one day).  I took it to the red line a couple of times on the way to the MOT place, to ensure emissions pass.

On Saturday it Took from 10:15 am to 3:20 pm to get the 220 mile to Cardiff. Including some serious road rage from a "powerfully built director" in a Volvo with Reg T6 COL?.  I won't discuss it further, only to say this guy is a twat and deserves to get his head caved in with a 46 ton crane.

On sunday it took from 11:15 til 2:30 pm to get back from Cardiff.  At one point my leg was screaming. Astra is painful.

Went to a car show on Sunday, not worth it's own thread as I was too busy talking to people and the few pictures I took were totally shit. Car park contained some quality shite though:

Also a chap a couple of years younger than I (the taller of the two shadows features in most of my photos) had brought along his Minor which is his daily ride, although he also has an MG ZR and a 2nd gen Scirocco!

Also some quality rubber on a Moggy pick-up truck...

It was my East Coast Retros car meet again tonight, the light was gone by 8pm so it didn't last very long but we still had some amazing cars turn up.

A chap from work bought his new Cherry, It's done something like 42000 miles and the interior is mega, separate tape tdeck FTW!

Then there was this bad boy! The chap has just bought it, I've never sat in one before but you can see why it was the most expensive car at one time, i was most impressed with the fasten seat belt sign, just like a Dolomite!

These toothbrush inspired headlight wipers cost a massive £250 each to replace!

By this point the light got the better of me so i couldn't get any more photos!

Ooof, Camargue.   Slightly ungainly but I'd be all over that like white on rice.

Camargue, what a beauty... not the prettiest car ever made to be honest but look at that interior! Bloody rare though, they only made about 600 over ten or twelve years... not going to keep the factory busy with those production numbers :)

A few years ago, they were cheaper to buy than a decent Spirit because they were so ungainly, the correct order has now been restored and prices are climbing, as they should!

Everything about it was class, the headlining has slats in it and the bonnet soundproofing is a quilted duvet!

One of the lads at work had asked me if I still want to sell my Astra. He wants it for his son.

Now this leaves a small dilemma as I don't have a car in place. The Mercedes that we fancied has been sold.

Do I sell him the car and find a cheap replacement till I find what I want or ask him to wait till I find the Mercedes that we like, and hope he doesn't find another car.

They all do that sir...

When we had one it misfired a few times for the same reason. Make sure though that the heather hose that runs across the front of the engine & is just pushed into a clip on the manifold doens't come loose. Ours did & the first thing you know about it getting sliced on the fan housing is when the temp gauge skyrockets just after the it's already suffered OMGHGF! Had to change the head gasket on a fecking 20k miler ffs. Piss easy job mind.

I had a Focus that was forever doing this. We sealed the washer jets and it would still do it. I think it was condensation off the underside of the bonnet as they have no soundproofing causing it. In the end the cure was to use the spark plug cover from a Volvo as they use the Zetec engine and sensibly make a cover to go over the plugs and it has been fine since.

That looks like Fyvie Castle.

If so, you were in my neck of the woods! Well, where I grew up anyway.

The light going so early was why I didn't come down. Shame - it would have been good to see the Cherry, and I can't believe another year has gone by when I've only managed to get to one.

No photos of the Manta A?!

It is. First time I've been there, completely neglected to take a photo of the actual castle. I'll have to go back next year, hopefully with a Dolomite.

That carmargue used to live in Glasgow. I often used to see it biffing around here.

Picked up the Civic, drove fine on the way home and everything seems to work as it should. Comes in driveway friendly size as well!

Have to go to Peterborough tomorrow but will use the Rover for that, then have to park it off road until it sells. Although I have no doubt* everyone will be fighting over themselves to buy it already

Is it possible to request more Friday night gatherings? Working on London and living in St Neots doesn't make Ipswich very easy midweek!

I imagine the whole club doesn't revolve around my suggestions... Just a thought!

I passed one of those RR/Bently 'SofticecreamRoaders'... Y'know the one which looks like an FX4 cab, in your rear mirror... lolzz

Gahh+Vommit+'I heard it panned here first' satisfaction :-P
