New work van Al? I'm sure you'll have this sorted in no time.

gotta have a good look at the bulkhead tomorrow,im thinking engine and dash might have to come out to repair it :-(

I'm a big fan of these vans, such a good looking shape. All the best with recommissioning it again, it should keep you busy for a few weeks!

Well played, sir. That looks like a corker, and bonus points for driving it home! 779/10.

A bit of online digging reveals that it did in fact use the Renault's rear suspension and the relevant part of the floorpan!

isnt this the wrong kind of pervage??

I tried giving one of these away on this very forum this year, nobody wanted it.

Ooooooooh yes. Just yes. That'll make a perfect AS parts chaser when it's fixed up.

it was 15 yards away from my house :-D

I got given a free Escort Mk4 estate once. My brother in law and I shoved it about 15yds, and that was as far as it went in my ownership. Diagnosed with snapped cambelt and four bores full of shrapnel. Bridged.

What a rarity!!!! I am amazed about the Fiesta courier having a rear suspension lifted from one of these things too. I think its true though, you can buy a rear axle bush off eBay that fits both vans!!!

I resurrected my Dads old Extra (same year and maybe same dealer, judging by Leicester plate) in 2005 after a 10 year slumber and they are really simple to work on.

Check the lower right hand engine mount as you look at the front of the engine bay, it split on me and caused the engine to tilt up as I moved off... queue the alternator pulley and curved slam panel near headlight becoming friendly

My dads also ran on 4 star despite being a 1988 model

One of my R5's did similar on the other side. The rubber on the gearbox mount parted company with the rest of the mounting so the gearbox reared up like an angry horse (cheval) when pulling away.

The rest of that van looks pretty darn good though. Apart from the sill and the windscreen have you found much grot that needs sorting out?

The battery tray and bulkhead just above the servo is the worst part
