New rear light should see that fine....

Surely just paint the bulbs red?

I think they all end up Cat C or D, due to the fact you can't actually see out of the driver's window.

just needs a new wheeltrim

And Yodel decals down the side.

Well Bought I say, The damage is nothing, leave it & perhaps add a bit of T Cut & it will look like a spiritual successor  to ANY royal mail van.

Seen the state of some of them?

That is nothing damage wise in all seriousness, couple of days in a good body shop, sorted.

TCut, some kind of white paint on any bare metal and perhaps a slight fettle from inside feature on my plan along with a bit of silicone on the seam you can see is now a bit more open than it ought to be.

PU sealant or neutral cure silicone though - the stuff which smells like vinegar (acetoxy cure) will actually promote rusting...

I like your thinking. Any excessive purchases I have ever made (except for houses) has been on the "Fuck this for a game" basis.

Something pisses me off enough it gets replaced with something right, almost regardless of the price.

Usually tools or uncooperative tech but sometimes cars too.

Normally as a result of me trying to do things on the cheap in the first place.

Exactly what has happened here although I’ve bought a <2 year old low mileage van for less than the price of a 4-5 year old one at some “dealers”

Good tip thanks, I had no idea. Sikaflex?

I've used both Sikaflex 221 and EBT for this sort of thing, and they seem to bond well to steel and last, plus can be overpainted. You can sometimes get the odd tube on eBay cheap with a short expiry date...

And at least you know exactly why it is being sold, not because it has a big bill looming or is proving unreliable!

Although it's a modern Citroën, so both of those things are pretty much a given anyway.

Kidding (hopefully)

"yeh m8 can u fix rust on driver side rear quarter under warranty pls? deffo didn't fix it using isopon, everbuild silicone, and hammerite radiator paint"

Posted

We run these as hire vans so get lots of dents,  the bodys don't seem to rust no matter how much they get thumped.  It must have been a good thump to break the rear light lens,  a few of ours have dents on the rear doors from being pushed against the lights while loading.

We are currently renting a van to the local Yodel driver after his Transit lost oil pressure.

2.2 is prone to poorly injectors that can crack pistons if let go bad enough . It should be quiet and smooth from cold . If it gets noisy and “diesely” sounding then get the injectors tested.

Our 11-plate Boxer is starting to rust quite badly now. That's Wales for you. Also, the paint is just falling off it, especially the bonnet and rear arches. Alternators seem annoyingly short lived. Heater controls often pack up. Bits of trim fall off a lot. Sometimes the sliding side door tries that trick too...

It's a family trait.  In 1987, while working in France, I had a Peugeot J5 side door slide open and keep going.

Can’t wait for this to GTFO today - almost as excited as when the Panda went

Take the ldv badge off and lob it on the new van.
