I drove a coupe one of those a good few years ago and I wasn't massively impressed, it felt bit dog-eared, rough and crap. However the 5 door 1.4 one I drove a few years later was actually really nice. I guess it's the difference between a looked after car and one that's been treated badly.

Those Megane cabriolet are good looking things imo. Well proportioned for a 4 seat cabrio.

This one is nice, I was amazed at how the centre console and radio are directed to the passenger.

The back suspension is knackered though, it's like driving on the bumpstops

The Duster isn't really heavy enough to A frame the 405 comfortably.   I should buy a Rexton.

No, the 405 is bottom of my list sadly so it's being axle raped  by @Jimbob McGregor and a few parts are going off on facebook.  No sunroof for @Scruffy Bodger.  Also I had forgotten that at my height and with my gut my legs go numb after half an hour of driving.

A shame as it's still rust free and the interior is OK, but the wiring has been hacked to pieces and it needs an engine.

Yes it's definitely better to have a bit of weight upfront with the A frame

Ah that's shame I would have had that of you as two engines here that would sit in it nicely

Don't suppose you've got a 1.4 tu?

Nope not recently just the old xud and 2litre turbo,  I'll have an ask about though if desperate.

Need to get my 205 back on the road before summer. Swapping a working lump in will probably be easier, quicker and cheaper than fucking around with whats in it.

What's happened to the existing mill.

It's the one which got bits of carb in a cylinder

This. Cold start problems turned into no-start problems.

Randomly trawling through Facebook and spott ed a bargain, so quickly messaged and pointed out how local I was - we're not far from Royston Vasey here.

A few hours later I was collecting it.  Didn't drive it home as it was at the top of a hill near the ski slopes and it has no brakes currently.

Came with a tipper trailer and water bowser which are already being useful.  PXL_20230216_162650909.thumb.jpg.153f78ac492d6fef05e2ef8a64d23150.jpgPXL_20230216_170833227.thumb.jpg.2002bc1170c92b63458963f2973b2cbd.jpg

It seems to have a totally different brake setup, and some hub gears which are dismantled and it's set up for direct drive.  Needs some work!
