Oooh good work Alex. A fleet of small french cars is for winners!

I'll eulogise more about the new AX with pictures and words when I get a spare second or two. It is ace.

Many thanks to Jerzy Woking, a true gent.

Also, due to a temporary financial crisis in my household the Mazda will unfortunately have to be sold. I'll wang up a proper for sale post later but it's £300 for a quick painless sale.

I assume a roffle© is oot of the question?

Unfortunately, due to a monetary malfunction, the Mazda 626 had to be CUL8RD.

I hate to see you leave but I love to watch you go.

My new AX, the 1.0 Dimension, has been immense since I bought it. It's punted me to various points of the country and to work and back in comfort, luxury and style*.

When I first bought it I was underwhelmed by the 954cc powahaus, but I have since discovered that if you have stupid BFO clown feet you need to really smoosh the power pedal right down in to the narrow footwell to release all the many angry chevaux.

The lack of a fifth gear is less of an issue than I had imagined too. I just keep a 65ish mph motorway velocity rather than a bit more.

The seats are flipping lovely, definitely the most comfy AX seats. Unfortunately the extra seat padding raises my thighs slightly compared to my 1.1 Forte, just enough to permanently press them against the steering wheel.

The only thing that I really miss from my high* spec Forte is the temperature gauge. I can easily live without the rev counter but I never realised how much of an eagle eye I kept on temps until I was running blind.

Basic.

Also, big thanks are due to castros_bro for dropping me off the AX-frame that fits the car.

With the clement recent weather, I've been MOT prepping my Forte.

I'm going to work my way through replacing the various pipes, wires, filters and shit until I've properly Trigger's Broom-ed the engine region.

I can't wait to get it MOTd ASAP, it'll feel like a big butch race car compared to the Dimension.

Soon to be once more screaming round the streets of England South with a lanky idiot grinning maniacally behind the wheel.

The 954cc does need you to really mash it to release all 50 of it's rampant kittenpowers but becomes quite a fun game once you've realised it. I found the 4 speed was most hindance between second and third with the former being quite low and the latter quite high but you get used to it in the end. Indicated 85mph in a 4sp AX is terrifying.

Loved the comfort those Dimension seats gave. Never realised the Dimension badge had so many colours in it.

I like my low powered cars and bikes as much as I do my high powered ones. With the low powered ones, I hit their limits, rather than my limits, as I do in/on the high powered ones.

When I met Mrs DW, she had a 954cc AX. She seemed quite happy to do 80 in it. Occassionally, it would actually have a sensible amount of oil in the engine. Was a remarkably tough little thing.

Great stuff Bucketeer!! You're a sick man. Are you leaving those towing eyes on the front of the Dimension? Aside from the extra gear and cc's, do the two cars handle much differently?

Posted

When the Dimension was mine, I was going to unbolt the towing eyes for the A Frame (glad to see them reunited), except they are welded in, and I couldn't get a disc cutter in underneath the car to chop them off. So just left the boxing gloves covering them.

So when is the forte getting a towball so we can see some hilarious AX² shenanigans?

I've been colossally broke recently and needed to cut down on cars. So I bought two more obvs.

In my defence, I couldn't not buy the Peugeot 205 1.1GL from Holbeck.

I introduced it to it's half-brothers.

I wanged a wash over soon after it arrived and it came up a treat.

Please note, that is definitely not two buckets. It was a mixing bowl and a storage box. Completely different.

Soon after the 205 arrived I really really needed to decrease the burgeoning fleet. So I bought a Volvo.

I enjoyed the drive back from Skattrd's so much that I carried on driving past home until I hit the sea.

A dirty Volvo 740 GLE Estate.

I'm starting to notice some frosty glares from residents of our neighbourhood.

I really really really need to cut down on cars.

Great fleet! Glad you like the 205 rear window decal I got off French E bay. I also designed had the period style plates on fancy plates.com because I felt it deserved it.

I found this quote in the for sale thread for the 740 when six_cylinder owned it.

We had a good poke at this during the last Shitefest so whoever buys this won't regret it as it comes with SVM approval.

Does that mean I can get a coveted 'SVM Approved' sticker? Adrian, Andy, David, anyone? Have you got any left?

Puts hand up for 205 when time comes...

I think I have one in the boot of the 850 in an envelope; will check it later.

It's a fundamentally sound old bus, should do you a turn alright.

I had a feeling you had put the stickers on when you owned it. They reminded me of the ace ones you put on the C15.

In other sticker news, whilst the Volvo awaits to hopefully be Officially SVM Approved I dug out something to celebrate mine and the car's spiritual home.

I may do.

Hopefully I might be able to become Bucketeers northern storage unit in due course
